Basic Cream Cheese Frosting
Servings: 12
Yield: 2 cups
Ingredients:
½ cup butter softened
8 ounces cream cheese
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1
Beat softened butter and cream cheese until well blended.
Step 2
Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy.

Cream cheese frosting (and buttercream frosting too) is one of those things where it’s all a game of balance- too little frosting, and the cake tastes boring. But too much frosting and you lose the cake entirely!
I can appreciate a nice frosting- even though I’m definitely a “more cake, less frosting” person! This looks like a great basic recipe for a classic frosting

I’m awful, before my diabetes, I could buy a jar of frosting from the store and just eat that as a treat. LOL. Glad you liked this recipe!

Hahaha no judgement there! After all, I can’t point fingers- sometimes I eat sticky mouthfuls of maple syrup and honey right out of the bottles
