Terrific Tuesday all,
I have looked all over and cannot find anything to answer my question. I have found things about birds and feathers, but my question/problem is more precise.
I live here in Vegas, desert, hot, it’s 8pm right now, and still 107 degrees.
Here is what I have been running into off and on for the past few weeks.
I keep finding, not just feathers, not birds “coming” to me, not seeing the same species, at the same time, or anything of this sort. This is what keeps showing up as an obstacle when I am walking outside. Parts of Birds wings. The joint in the wing, so I have the whole wing, feathers and all, as if it just fell off the bird. There is not any blood, no tendons or bones showing. These last few weeks I have found at least 3 that I remember specifically, but probably 4 or 5.
So, does anyone have an idea of what bird wings mean, without the rest of the bird anywhere nearby. It’s not like a cat got it and the rest of the bird is over there, no, it’s just a clean piece of one whole wing with the feathers, so it is not an old death.
Well, this is getting long, but I am not quite sure what this means.
I’m thinking, birds, flight or travel, motion of some kind, but why a feathered wing?
Okay, “tag, you’re it”

I would assume that a small predator is at work; it doesn’t necessarily have to be a cat. Once the bird is dead, there aren’t many bloodstains happening anymore; the bird’s body is consumed, leaving only the wings which sometimes will be dragges to other places by other predatory birds or other critters. Here in Vienna, you can observe this quite often; there are quite a few martens here, especially in the districts with many parks and green spaces. Foxes also like to eat birds, especially if they are sick and can no longer escape quickly enough.
I think you can simply play with your associations; perhaps write down what spontaneously comes to mind. In a more general sense, bird wings primarily symbolize freedom, elevation, and spirituality. They represent the ability to rise above the earthly, to overcome limitations, and to explore new horizons.

Witchy Wednesday Katharina,
Thank-you, I appreciate what you have to say, but in the city here in Vegas we have stray dogs some cats and that’s it. Once in a while you might see a coyote or a bighorn sheep in the mountain or at the lake, but there is no living large predator (other than human) in the city. It’s just too da** hot. It’s 2:30 a.m. and it’s only 97 degrees. We have ants, a few bees, believe it or not, seagulls (about 20 years ago, they were blown in by a storm from California). The foxes, coyotes, snakes, bighorn sheep, local fauna, are not even close to the city.
That is why I am so confused by it. Maybe once every couple years to find this, but 4 or 5 times in less than a month? Gotta mean something. I did think of movement. There are a few things that could be referring to.

This does seem to be a lot in a short period. I still wouldn’t put it past the stray dogs to catch something to eat. It could mean there is weakness among the birds, possibly caused by not getting enough to drink in the heat. Heat exhaustion causes confusion and weakness in birds as well as people, so they may not be paying as close attention to predators. Yet you are correct: a cat would leave more of a pile of feathers like what was being found in yards a month ago (possibly from young birds with little experience with predators), whereas a hungry dog would gobble as quickly as possible, leaving less refuse.

Witchy Wednesday Georgia,
The only natural occurrence that I could think of was air pollution. Throughout the last year, I have continually found dead birds in the street. Not hit by cars, not attacked by animal, no blood, just lying dead on the road as if they literally fell out of the sky. That, I can get my mind around, but why only bird wings now. Again, they look as if they just “fell out of the sky”.
Really, I am not Chicken Little (the sky is falling, the sky is falling).
