Cinnamon Stick/Wood Spell Carving - Small Wand

Hi Everyone

Throughout history there has been carvings on caves, tombs and wood which you can still see today this has inspired me to think about using this in my craft. I have carved magical symbols on pieces of wood from different Tree Spirts. If wood is not available then you can still carve them into a Cinnamon Stick. It is quick to do and should last a little while though not as long as Wood. You can take it with you as a Talisman or make a small one to add to a Spell Bottle.

What you need

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Small piece of wood about 4 inches or a Cinnamon Stick (whatever you can get)

:dotted_six_pointed_star: Small Sharp Knife or Wood Carving Tool

:dotted_six_pointed_star: A bag to store.

Instructions

  • Decide on the symbol you want to carve. It can be a Rune, Bindrune or Sigil. The design is personal and completely up to you. You could even do a symbol to enhance the magical properties of the Cinnamon itself.
  • Carefully carve the design into the wood or cinnamon stick and as you do focus your intentions on the meaning of the chosen symbol

That it is. You can use it straight away or store it for when you need it.

I attach a photo I cannot take all the credit as my Husband help me with it of one I we have made it is a piece of wood from The Oak Tree (Tree Spirt) and have decorated it with oak leaves/acorns and the Ogham Symbol of"Duir" - which represents strength, knowledge and the changes of the seasons. Witches in Dorset and Cornwall carried them as little wands in their hand or pocket.

As a Hedge Witch The Oak Tree and Spirt and leaves, acorns are a powerful anchor to the earth and a portal to the Hedge. It is also connected to the Fae.

Thank you so much! This is perfect! I already have a perfect little piece of wood for this!

@Moonbeam yours is gorgeous!

@tracyS do you have any runes that would help me in my interview that I could carve? Maybe Ansuz? Then an acorn for luck??

@shanna5

:thinking: What is it you want? Luck, confidence, no nerves and when’s the interview. Ansuz is Odin’s rune and is good for knowledge but Odin would expect you to do prep for the interview, so Ansuz would help you present yourself well and recall what you’ve prepared for example. Let me know what other energies you want lovely and we could make a bind :grin:

@shanna5 @tracyS thanks for helping I was not sure which rune/bindrune be best to suggest or if another symbol would be better :grinning_face::waning_gibbous_moon::green_heart:

@tracyS I have definitely prepped!! Odin would be proud of the amount of studying and research I have done for this. I would like confidence and communication, I believe. I know the material and I am a great fit for the role. I think some help to not stumble over my words and a confidence boost so I don’t sweat through my new blazer would be best!

Thanks so much! I will carve it tomorrow if I can find something applicable to put on it!

@shanna5 you have got this believe in yourself. Sending you confident blessings :waning_gibbous_moon::green_heart:

Then all you need is :ansuz: and maybe :isaz: for a cool heart, you can easily put those 2 into a bind. This post below gives ways you can use the runes, and how you can just draw them on yourself if you can’t find the right material.

Good luck, you got this. :green_heart:

Thanks @tracyS I will finish up my research and then get to carving! The interview is tomorrow! Yikes! I have charged some green aventurine and citrine as well. Mine will likely not be as gorgeous as @Moonbeam and her hubby can do. But it will hopefully do the trick!!

That’s so gorgeous!! :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes: I must admit, I’m a little jealous of you or your husbands whittling expertise!

@SuckOnMySunshine thanks he used to be in the building trade before changing careers but his Dad was a joiner so he was always messing around with wood :waning_gibbous_moon::green_heart:

OK, so mine is definitely not as pretty. But hopefully it has done the trick! I really enjoyed this bit of magic too! I used a dremel for safety as I do not have a whittling knife and the others all felt a little dangerous! I did once require some stitches whittling a pinewood derby car!
I digress: @tracyS I did use :ansuz: and :isaz:. I saw some bindrunes that cross them, but for some reason it didn’t feel right. So I made the staff extra thick and did carve both in independently with separate intention. The process was nice and I activated it with the 4 elements, air being my breath. I did read that was an important step.
Well the interview went AMAZING!! I should find out next week! Thank you Tracy and thank you @Moonbeam for all of your help! You two are the BEST!!

Oh, the wood was from this big log that I sit on out in the garden. Its pretty much falling apart, so I took a bit of my favorite seat to make it.
