I woke up this morning and my soul feels alive, my energy is fizzy with excitement, and I think I’ve done it again… the Phoenix has risen from the ashes of despair and self-doubt and is manifesting like bunnies!
Anyway, I had this sudden urge to come on here and share something I stumbled on, and I hope it will intrigue and inspire you too.
Many of us use a Circle of Protection for rituals and spells and so on, and I personally have a Sphere of Protection when I’m out and about. But one evening I wanted to commune with the ancestors, and the thought occurred to me… if I wasn’t told that protection was a circle, what would I do? The Tetrahedron (triangular pyramid) is often associated with cosmic energy, balance and purity, but psychically to me it feels like ancient wisdom, reverence and power… so perhaps that shape would be better suited to commune with the ancestors? Well, let’s just say it totally worked for me!
Similarly, when doing a chakra alignment, I don’t always align them in a straight line, and I don’t see them as balls of coloured lights anymore either. When I engage my chakras, I imagine a hula hoop of that colour, each one gently spinning around me: and when they alignment, instead of the white light connecting them from crown to root, the hula hoops merge into a rainbow sphere. When they’re spinning they kind of look like this:
One could further explore in all kinds of ways… a heart of protection for self-love, a cube of protection for grounding… I could go on, but I’ll leave that to you and your creativity, have fun!
x Blessed Be x
P.S. I will be back this evening to catch up, love and hugs to all mwah mwah xxx
That’s awesome! I’m a big fan of trying new ideas and doing what works in the Craft, and you’re right that triangles and tetrahedrons have magickal power of their own (I’m thinking of all the power of symbolism in the number 3, for starters! ) - so why not incorporate them into rituals for protection and other spells? Love it!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and the encouragement - it’s always appreciated!
This is interesting, because when I was a little girl (like 9 or 10) I remember that my mother had a friend, who would tell me that if I should ever feel anxious, I should imagine myself sitting inside a pyramid whose outer sides were mirrored so that no one could see me. (She also told me on another occasion, that she would see black spirit dogs around me. She told me, those dogs would protect me, no matter what. I found her to be a very nice but very strange lady. Now I´m thinking she might have been a witch.)
Many years later I read in a book that the egypt word “pyramid” really means “fire in the middle”. How cool is that?
Yes, pyramids work very well for me. Love them.
Lovely idea!!! I have always imagined protection like Amethyst, similar to the shields on the Enterprise. In fact, I have a little “ditty” where I create a dome of protection for myself and my home and family. So, I really like this pyramid idea. You mentioned the power of three but also Egypt. Are you referring to 4-sided (Egyptian pyramids) or a 3-sided pyramid? Or, does it really matter? 3-sided, for the power of 3, or 4-sided for each element?
Why didn’t I think of that - I love that idea, thanks! Dad was a Star Trek fan so I watched many episodes as a child!
A very good question, both of them! I guess when I think of a pyramid I immediately think 4 sided Egyptian pyramids because I’ve been in one. That said, I imagine a 3-sided pyramid would work just as well. As for does it matter… probably not, but there could be different feelings from them, so one might be best suited for some purposes, the other for other purposes… never hurts to explore a little!
My question for the pyramid is because the Egyptian pyramid is usually what we envision, however, I was asking about 3 sided, thinking of the magickal #3. I would not hazard to guess which one for which situation. Lady Gene
That’s a very good point! I personally think there could definitely be some magickal strength in a 3-sided pyramid, although now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever used one in a protective way. I guess because I see and feel it visually, and to me the Egyptian pyramid is more conducive to being inside it, more room to move… perhaps it will be the focus of a future experiment!
Yes, I understand about being inside the pyramid. I remember in the 70’s something about sleeping under a pyramid shape at night….similar to the new “philosophy” of Feng Shui and place your head facing North. I have always loved pyramids anyway. I was thinking of getting a crystal wand with pyramid shapes to represent the 7 chakras….(I found it on Amazon), my wand now is almost needing replacement. I have always been fascinated with Egypt and the pyramids. My bucket list is mostly travels with my top 3 sites, Great Wall of China, Pyramids of Egypt, and Rome for the ancient sites. My degree is in History, so go figgur….
Me too!! I went there in another lifetime and it was a humbling and energising experience… in fact, I’m pretty sure my soul was there at some point in time, but that’s another story!
That sounds beautiful! I got something similar from Temu, it’s not a wand but it does have the 7 chakras:
