Is anyone aware of any special magical qualities a comet passing by brings? I know historically they are seen as bad omens or foretell disaster. I also found some dark magic concepts, but that’s definitely not anything I’m interested in. Just didn’t want to miss an opportunity to use the energy of a passing comet in a positive way, if possible. Thoughts?
When I first heard that a comet is a giant, dirty snowball, I thought of playing in the snow with the Creator. It was a fun image in my head which I could use for just about anything.
One year, most of the elementary school got together to build a giant fort out of a snowball. They made the base of a snowman too big to move, so they began hollowing it out making rooms inside, decorating the top with what was dug out from inside.
Who’d ever thought of building a house? Someone who knew what it was like to build a sand castle!
One day, the principal decided there was a danger of the rooms collapsing, and we weren’t allowed to work on it anymore. I guess someone came with a dump truck and hauled it away over the weekend because there was no trace of it ever having been there when we got back.
I guess my point is that without much previous use, we can choose our own ideas, as long as we are safe about it.
I saw an image which I couldn’t collect. The comet was setting on the horizon. It looked like a giant Disney style magic wand casting glitter all across the sky. This is how I’d like to use it: spread joy all over the land.
Still researching what I originally wanted of magic, what drew me to the “bibbidy bobbity boo” of it all. When life encroached, I forgot, got lost in the rules and psychology, and lost the fun of it all. I was told that was part of “growing up,” though I fought it. Maybe for me, a memory spell reversing “obliviate” so I can start over again.
Hey @BeccaAnn ! I’m going to tag in @Cosmic_Curiosity here as he is our astrology specialist and I think he would be a great help here. I know nothing about comet magick, so am very curious to learn this as well!
In astrology, comets are not really considered to the same extent as the planets and asteroids but can still be interpreted. In the past, they were indeed bad omens, often signalling negative events such as wars or natural disasters. They don’t have firm established meanings but more generally, they represent periods of transformation, new beginnings, or sudden change (think of their sudden appearance in the sky). They are also seen as a time to take stock and re-examine your life path.
The interpretation of a comet is often intuitive and can depend on different factors, including:
Brightness
Very Bright Comets may suggest major events or shifts. A bright comet can bring a time of clarity, awareness, or collective awakening. Faint Comets could indicate subtle changes or personal introspection. They might suggest that any shifts are more internal rather than external.
Colour
Green: Renewal, growth, and new beginnings, healing and prosperity.
Red: Urgency, passion, or conflicts, strong emotions or transformative experiences.
Blue or White: Clarity, communication, intellect, insight or enlightenment.
Tail Length
Long Tails suggest significant transitions that will be felt for an extended period. Short Tails indicate quick changes or immediate impacts.
Trajectory:
Comets with a direct path are often linked to clear and decisive changes, suggesting that the events will unfold in a straightforward manner. Comets with Erratic Paths suggest unpredictability and chaos.
I guess looking at these details about a particular comet could give an indication of the energies at play.
If you are thinking about the A3 comet, it is considered a BRIGHT GREEN with a LONG tail and a DIRECT path.
hope this helps
