Cord Cutting ✂️ Spell

Mid-Shift Check-in: Solitary Practice, First Circle & Cutting the Cords :candle::scissors::waxing_crescent_moon::sparkles:

Merry Meet everyone,

Writing this during some quiet downtime on shift. I’m locked in until 11:00 AM tomorrow, and the schedule has been intense. Got off this morning at 7:00 AM, made it home by 8:00, lay down around 9:00, and was back up by 4:00 PM. With my wife out with her sister, I had a quiet two-hour window to myself before having to head out at 6:00 PM for this 7:00 PM to 11:00 AM stretch.

First, my apologies for blowing up the board yesterday! My head was spinning, and during downtime I got completely swept up reading through everyone’s advice and going down rabbit holes. I promise to keep my posts balanced—I will still be sharing my photos of the Sun, the Moon, and the forest, but I’ll make sure to limit them so I don’t flood the feed.

During my downtime last night, I dove deep into the Spells8 courses and read up on cord cutting. When I woke up at 4:00 PM today with the house completely empty, I knew it was time. I combined it with my meditation, and it ended up being the very first time I actually cast a circle. I’ve watched videos and studied the motions for ages, but walking the circle clockwise, setting my own intentions, and speaking my own words made all the difference.

I took the great advice from here and wrote down my affirmation chant on paper. I tucked it safely right into my bag alongside my daily crystals, my ritual items, and my iron key for Hecate.

Actually doing the work to cut those heavy cords myself shifted the energy in the room instantly. Standing there with chills all over, my left ear started ringing intensely. My grandmother always told me to pay attention to which ear rings and which hand itches—she had so many of those old folk sayings and beliefs that I still live by today without even thinking about it. Standing in that circle made me realize something amazing: I’ve been practicing, carrying this magic, and following the old ways my entire life without even having the official words for it.

Dropping those cords and feeling that shift lifted years of accumulated anxiety, stress, and outside weight right off my shoulders. Stepping into this long overnight shift, I feel grounded and centered in a way I haven’t felt in a long time.

Huge gratitude to, the Spells8 team, and everyone here. Having access to these courses and a real, supportive coven gives me the exact tools I need to heal, reclaim my power, and stand firm on my path.

Wishing you all peace, clear skies, and strong boundaries this week.

So mote it be! :herb::old_key::dog::candle::sun::waxing_crescent_moon::new_moon::waning_crescent_moon::sparkles:

And yes had to have help of Gemini AI to help me put it in form help me make sense of it all :saluting_face::winking_face_with_tongue:

Honestly, I don´t think this was ever a problem here. Create as many posts as you wish.

It can be a lot, so make sure you´re enjoying it and not stressing about it.

Many witches here share this experience. Many of us feel like we´re “remembering” more than “learning”. I´m thinking the connection to nature and the spirituality that comes with it is so deeply ingrained in our humanity and our minds and souls that 2000 years of christianisation couldn´t sever those connections. They maybe layed upon it, like a layer of dust, but never cut them. Because the infinite wisdom and power of mother earth, the sun, the moon and the universe were cherished by mankind way before the patriarchal abrahamic religions were put upon us.

Lovely! :purple_heart: This is how you know, that your practice works for you.

You are a amazing photographer and I love to see them your enthusiasm is amazing this helps me immensely move along the key you have their looks like some keys I received a while ago I haven’t used them yet. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :sun:

I appreciate that. I was told to carry the key because it was made of iron and for protection, so it’s been with me non-stop for the last two weeks.After learning about Hecate from @Katharina and @Moonbeam, everything fell into place. I hope you had a good weekend, and I wish you all a blessed week ahead. :heart_hands::hamsa::yin_yang::nazar_amulet::old_key::dog::waning_crescent_moon::full_moon::waxing_crescent_moon:

@markzen304

Congratulations on casting your first circle and that you felt you have now released the cords and any stress, anxiety attached to each one. There is some much different paths you could choose as @Katharina has beautiful written. As we learn sometimes what you think originally your path is it can change. Although I am definitely a Hedge Witch however there are a lots of similarities to a Sea Witch, the Moon, Crystals the more I learn from my Ancestors and being guided the more I discover about my Mother’s own Ancestors that originated from the Scottish Highlands and Devon/Cornwall both which are both coastal areas there is a link to the sea.:ocean: I love Knot Magic and Hag-Stones they have been formed by the ocean and I am looking at adding a couple of crystals to my collection. I charge numerous water. Paths entwine and weave in different ways. I embrace and go with it.

The old fork sayings learned from your Grandmother or Ancestors do have merit behind them. If my left ear is burning someone is talking about me if my foot itches then I will be walking on unfamiliar ground. There are lots more. Forklore is back to the old ways costs nothing using what nature provides, tree spirts I could go on but will stop.

Enjoy your journey wherever it takes you :new_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

Sounds like we had the same grandmother, lol. Left hand, you’re not supposed to scratch because you’re receiving money. That was the one that stuck with me because I swear every time my left hand itches, within a few days I’ve received abundance and if you scratch it, you’re wishing it away. The right hand she always said, if it itches, scratch it right away.Because you’re shaking hands with a fool, so watch. Same with the feet, left time to look within. Right foot itches, good thing you’re going to travel and unfamiliar grounds. Left foot itches, bad thing, time to stop and look within..And like, you could go on for days, lol, and I still live by them all that my grandma’s ever taught me. Even though I don’t have to write them down, they’re just buried in my head. So yes, learning from ancestors and continuing to put their practice, keep it alive, it’s one special. Wishing you a blessed day :hamsa::nazar_amulet::yin_yang::sagittarius::full_moon::sun::old_key::person_in_lotus_position:

@markzen304

Thanks for giving me further information from your Grandma with which hands and feet I will make a note to remind myself to scratch the right straight away and it is the opposite with the feet. I wonder if the left hand is for luck being your wedding ring :thinking: I will let you know if anything comes to me

Have a blessed day :dotted_six_pointed_star::new_moon::green_heart:

So worries! If we’re not interested, we can always skip. I like seeing it! It’s all good!

So glad the ritual helped! The spells on this site are wonderful! Good luck to you for the week!

I like the way you put this!

I don’t think it was down. I didn’t see a mushroom cloud. Did you get a message from the moderators? No? That means you’re fine. Sometimes we just need to vent. That is actually healthy.

Congratulations! You are now “practicing.” It really does change things.

We have an irregular post every once in a while on old wives tales. I’d enjoy learning more, if you’d like to share.

I have notices that when my forehead itches, I’ll be taking a trip- it doesn’t have to be far, just getting out of the house. Some say that when the left hand itches, lick it to stick it, and put your hand in your pocket to keep the money.

I have not heard that one before . This one happens to me numerous times a day if you wear a necklace and the clasp moves to the front kiss it and make a wish then move it back to the nape of your neck :grinning_face::new_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

Ok, so I spoke into Gemini while I was walking, taking pictures of tonight’s sun and the beauty that is.. Looking back, so many of the little superstitions and remedies my grandmother passed down to me are things I still practice every single day without even realizing it.

As a kid, I just thought they were cool and fascinating quirks. Now that I’m walking this path, I realize she was passing down generations of bloodline folk magic right at the kitchen table. I wish she were still alive today—I would love nothing more than to sit down with her and really pick her brain about the old ways now that I actually understand what it all means.

Next time I talk to my dad, my sister, or my mom, I’m definitely going to ask them to share the old sayings and habits they remember that might have slipped my mind. She had a whole library of them in her head.

She was hands down my favorite person in this world, and she still is in the next. She never played favorites—she loved every single one of her grandkids equally with her whole heart. My grandma was a truly blessed soul, and realizing that her ways live on through my own practice brings me so much warmth and peace.

Does anyone else have old folk sayings, omens, or kitchen-table remedies passed down through your family that you didn’t realize were “the craft” until you were older?

Blessed Be! :old_woman::old_key::herb::dove::sparkles:

I’ve played sports :soccer_ball::basketball::baseball::american_football: ever since I was 5. I have sprained many ankles and I told my grandmother many times, “I’m not pissing on my own ankle lol or anyone’s :joy:.” So I don’t know if that one works :thinking:, but she claims it does . So I’m guessing she must have done it to my grandfather / dad lol or someone gross :joy: lol.

I remember my grandmother like it was yesterday she went blind at the age of about 30 I think because of her diabetes we always had fantastic conversations about the world and I was talking to my cousin the other night she was saying she wish she had wrote down some of the things she would say, my memories was Christmas and putting the penny in the Christmas pudding, the old put honey on a dummy to stop the child from crying so many things but most of all she never judged any one and we loved talking and going out together. :heart:
