Crystal Catwalk - Can I see your Pretties?

Hey Hey you lovely humans :waving_hand:t4:

I’ve done a few searches now, and I can’t find any threads dedicated to showing off your crystals, or as I sometimes call them, my pretties… :see_no_evil_monkey::laughing:

I know we had a fab thread a while back about organising crystals, but maybe it could be fun just being with them, remembering why they are part of our collections in the first place!

So how about we dig them all out, dust them off and let them sparkle for the coven! Let those darlings release their inner beauty… find your inner photographer as you capture their essence.. let them shine! You can just add pix, you can describe your faves and what you use them for, or you could do all of the above and more…I am literally being nosy. Again. Yes, I have no shame, y’all should know that by now

I’ll start by sharing my everyday pouch, which has all the crystals I use the most… as we progress and life intervenes, I’ll include the others which are, of course, packed away right now haha!

Top = Chakra pendulum, which I use for divination mostly, every now and again I use it to find things.

Middle = Tiger’s Eye, Spiderweb Obsidian, Opal, Hematite, Fluorite, Selenite stick.

Bottom = Black Tourmaline, Lapis Lazuli, Rose Quartz, Malachite, Amethyst and Clear Quartz.

The Malachite, Fluorite and Selenite sticks are mainly for cleansing and purifying my cards; Black Tourmaline, Spiderweb Obsidian and Tiger’s Eye for protection (during readings, meditations, rituals, etc.); Hematite mainly for grounding during astral work; Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst and Opal for connecting to Spirit; Rose Quartz for love, and Clear Quartz for everything and amplification.

My Selenite wand, which I use mainly to cleanse and purify my energy

My Clear Quartz crystal ball, which I use either to amplify my gifts or for comfort - I can sit and hold her for ages, so soothing.

And of course my Chakra Crystal Grid, for chakra energy work

I’m looking forward to seeing your pretties!

x Blessed Be x

P.S. if you have crystals with something printed on them, say runes for example… that totally counts too! And can I nosily ask why you chose that crystal for your runes?

I don’t have too many crystals, but I really love the ones I have :pink_heart: The ones shown below, from left to right in the first image, are as follows:

  • raw clear quartz
  • mahogany obsidian
  • smokey quartz
  • carnelian
  • a random black stone
  • yellow calcite
  • red jasper
  • dragonstone (some kind of agate, I’m pretty sure)
  • another agate with crystal inclusions (picked this one up at a garage sale for $0.50)
  • large rose quartz heart
  • small container with various crystal chips

Then I have a crystal ball, which I’m pretty sure is just glass :woman_shrugging: but I have on clue.

One of the most unique pieces I’ve had is the one I picked up at a garage sale. I have no clue exactly what it is, but it has two holes in it that let you see inside. Inside, it has what look to be clear quartz inclusions! I took a little video and turned it into a GIF so you can see :pink_heart: hopefully, it’s big enough lol I might have to make it into a little video instead.

@MeganB I love that one in the video! I don’t know what Crystal that is either…

@Nikki-Phoenix I already told you I love yours too especially the Seven Chakra Pendulum and the Crystal Grid.

I am just a Crystal Fanatic.

Based on the banding and colors on the outside, I think it’s a type of agate. I could take it to a specialist to find out for sure, but it doesn’t really matter to me :person_shrugging: it’s a unique stone and that’s what matters to me!

There are a few apps. I have rock identifier. They give you two free identifiers a day….

If you want to take a picture and see for sure…

But also, I don’t know what a few of mine are too. That’s fine with me lol. They are so pretty and make me happy! That is what matters most!

@MeganB I can’t be 100% sure but I believe that cutie is a Mookite. It is one of my favorites because of all the colors that it can manifest.

Oooo, I’m going to overwhelm this thread. Let me know if it’s too much, and I’ll try to move the photos to a drop-down!

Get ready…

Red moonstone, clear quartz, black moonstone Green moonstone ( Garnierite) sphere, quartz rocks, Green moonstone ( Garnierite) palmstone.

Quartz cluster, amethyst cluster. obsidian chunks, blue jyanite shards, leopoldiite, black moonstone, blue tiger eye, tiger eye.

Mixed crystals grouped 1-6. I won’t type them all out but feel free to ask about any of them.

Amazonite, Rhodochrosite (first box), rainbow flourite, clear quartz, rose quartz, pink opal, amazonite (third box).

Labradorite

Labradorite bottle, black moonstone

Cat’s Eye, Ocean Jasper cabochon, Sky Blue Crazy Lace Agate

Red Jasper with hematite, ruby zoisite, bloodstone bracelet and mookaite jasper.

I created beaded jewelry for 20 years, so a large portion of this was purchased for creating necklaces. Most of the finished jewelry pieces pictured I made myself. Clearly, I have a thing for moonstone and labradorite.

And fwiw @MeganB I’m leaning more towards that mystery rock being a red agate. It’s very pretty! Red Agate vs Red Jasper: What’s the Difference?

I’m on my laptop, so it’s hard to check for duplicate photos, so I’ll take care of it tomorrow!

@Artemisia YOU HAVE ME BEAT! I thought I had a lot of Crystals! I am always giving mine away though. All of my neighbors have Crystals :joy::rofl:! I even gave some to my dad. My dad takes Green Aventurine now every time me goes fishing for good luck!

Hmm… I’ve never heard of that before! I looked it up and it says it comes from a region in Australia, and it’s a type of radiolarite. Based on the inclusions in the one I have, I don’t think that’s what it is - pretty similar, though!

I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but I popped the image into a reverse image search and found some similar stones. It could potentially be a type of agatized coral (if it was found and processed in Florida, since that’s where I lived when I picked it up) or a piece of what’s called Lake Superior Agate. I found these similar images for the agate!

(Google reverse image search results)

MinDat says that Lake Superior Agate is a type of quartz.

Believed to be the world’s oldest agates, over 1 billion years old, these are found throughout the northern US having been spread from the original Lake Superior region by glaciation. It has generally pale colouring.

https://www.mindat.org/min-9253.html

I also found their Lake Superior Agate image gallery, and it’s pretty similar!

MinDate Image Source

I’m really glad I looked it up, because this just makes it so much more special to me!

That’s what I was thinking, too :pink_heart: And then doing all the searching (see above…lol) I found a closer match! Still an agate, but wow! :star_struck:

Woooooooowwwww, I did not think this through.. my inner crystal goddess is having a field day right now… soooo many pretties!!!

@Artemisia I bow to the Crystal Queen :princess:  I know I always say everything in moderation, but crystals are an exception! So many I’m curious about, I don’t know if I have time to ask about them all haha! But at the top of the list is the heart-shaped crystal that looks like the night sky… I need that in my life, what is it please?

@MeganB I will be searching for a beauty like that, I’ve always wanted a crystal I could look into, imagine what one could see

@anon59397935 I have already bowed to you, the crystal empress :princess:

@georgia I love the Opal dream unicorn!

So here are my crystal bottles, which I mainly use for rituals and spell bags/boxes/etc, and if I want to boost a crystal grid I’ll add some of these babies

Thank you all for joining in this thread, it may become one of my faves…okay okay, it is one of my faves :see_no_evil_monkey::rofl::heart_eyes:

I have many stones (who doesn’t), but this one found me and I feel really pulled to it. I have no idea what it is. Here’s the story of how it found me…

My husband and I were out for a walk in a different neighborhood than our own, talking about our upcoming move to Peru. We came across a book box (Little Library) and when I opened the door, there was a book about Peru that was right in front. We borrowed it, then continued our walk. All of the sudden, something next to the curb caught my eye. This beautiful blue-gray stone. It is clearly polished and it was in an area where there was no house - just an empty lot. It was a hot day, but the stone is always cool. It’s very heavy.

Any ideas as to what it is? I just feel grounded when it is with me. Given its size (about 2" across) and its weight, I don’t carry it with me often, but it is always close by me in my home.

Most of my crystals/gemstones were purchased years and years ago to make beaded jewelry. I also took a silversmithing workshop class for 6 years to learn to make rings and pendants. I didn’t become interested in them as crystals until 2 years ago. I’m in the process of decluttering my belongings and finding new homes for the business supplies I no longer use. But yes, it’s a bit too much at present :joy:

Dark blue with sparkles? That’s blue goldstone. It’s glass with copper bits but very pretty!

It’s hard to tell from the photos. Can you take one of it on the sunlight/outside? If you hold a flashlight up to it, does any light come through?

The Blue Goldstone is a beautiful piece @Artemisia.

Could it be Sodalite?

@georgia I would be wearing all of those! Let me show you my bracelets I wear everyday.

@Nikki-Phoenix

@dan3 - I forgot to show you these!

Interesting that you asked the question about the light coming through - I never would have thought to look for that! It does in streaks (as shown).
