Divination & ChatGPT

I decided to talk to ChatGPT and ask if some questions about the cards I drew in my Saged app today in relation to my Sun, Moon and Rising sign. I also have seen the number 8 everywhere today so I included that in my question.

First, it started by explaining how my Sun, Moon and Rising signs work together. Side note: I told ChatGPT that I was curious in how this all related to my mental health journey so you’ll see that as a focus.

“Having a Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon, and Pisces Rising means you are deeply intuitive, emotionally sensitive, and highly empathetic.

• Cancer Sun: Your core identity revolves around emotional security, home, and nurturing those you love. You are protective, compassionate, and often act as a caregiver in your relationships.

• Cancer Moon: Your inner world is intensely emotional, and you experience feelings on a profound level. This makes you incredibly empathetic but also prone to mood swings. Your emotions guide your decisions, and you seek comfort in familiar environments.

• Pisces Rising: The way you present yourself to the world is dreamy, artistic, and somewhat mystical. People may see you as gentle, compassionate, and deeply connected to unseen energies. Your intuition is strong, and you might often feel like an emotional sponge, absorbing the energies around you.

Overall, this combination makes you a deeply feeling person who navigates life through intuition and emotional depth. You likely have a strong creative or spiritual side and may need to set emotional boundaries to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Does this resonate with you?”

:tiger2::white_heart: Next, I told it that I drew a White Tiger Animal Spirit Oracle card and asked how it tied in.

“The White Tiger as an animal spirit is a powerful symbol of strength, intuition, and divine protection. In many spiritual traditions, tigers represent courage, independence, and raw instinct, while the white tiger, in particular, carries an air of mystery, wisdom, and spiritual awakening.

Key Meanings of the White Tiger Spirit Card:

• Inner Strength & Resilience – You may be stepping into a phase where you need to trust your inner power and stand strong in your beliefs.

• Intuition & Mysticism – The white tiger is deeply connected to unseen forces, urging you to trust your intuition and spiritual guidance.

• Balance of Power & Grace – This card may be reminding you to balance your strength with patience and wisdom rather than acting impulsively.

• Transformation & New Beginnings – White animals often symbolize purity and change, suggesting you may be undergoing a personal or spiritual transformation.

How It Might Relate to You:

With your Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon, and Pisces Rising, this card could be emphasizing your intuitive gifts and emotional strength. You naturally feel things deeply, and the White Tiger may be encouraging you to trust your instincts while also embracing your personal power.”

:eight: Next, I told it that the number 8 had been popping up all day and asked how it tied in.

“The number 8 in numerology is deeply connected to power, balance, abundance, and karmic cycles. Seeing it repeatedly suggests that you are in a phase of transformation where themes of personal strength, stability, and manifestation are important.

What the Number 8 Means for You Today:

• Personal Power & Confidence – The universe may be nudging you to step into your own power, take charge of a situation, or trust in your ability to create the life you desire.

• Balance Between the Material & Spiritual – The number 8 is shaped like an infinity symbol, representing the connection between the physical and spiritual realms. You may be finding (or needing) balance between practical concerns and your intuition.

• Karma & Life Lessons – The number 8 is also linked to karmic energy, meaning that what you put out into the world is coming back to you. If you’ve been working hard, rewards may be on their way.

• Abundance & Financial Growth – In a practical sense, 8 often represents money, success, and stability. You may be entering a phase of financial or career growth.

How It Connects to the White Tiger Card:

Both symbols—the White Tiger and the number 8—are about strength, wisdom, and stepping into your personal power. This could be a sign that you are in a period of transformation, where you are being asked to trust yourself, embrace your inner strength, and move forward with confidence.”

:compass: Following this, I told it that I drew an Inner Compass Oracle card and asked again how it tied in.

“ The Inner Compass card ties beautifully into the energy of both the White Tiger and the number 8. It’s a symbol of trusting your intuition and inner guidance as you navigate life, especially in times of change or transformation.

What the Inner Compass Card Means for You:

• Trusting Your Own Path – The Inner Compass card urges you to trust your instincts and follow your own direction, especially when faced with uncertainty or when you’re working on something deeply personal like your mental health journey.

• Guidance from Within – It suggests that you already have the answers within you, even if they aren’t clear right now. The Inner Compass is asking you to listen to that quiet voice inside, even when the outside world feels overwhelming.

• Staying True to Yourself – This card reinforces the need for self-honesty and authenticity. It’s about aligning your actions with your true self, no matter what external pressures you may feel.

How It Ties Together:

• The White Tiger is about trusting your strength and intuition, which aligns with the Inner Compass. Both cards remind you to listen inwardly and trust that you have the wisdom and inner strength to move forward.

• The number 8 reinforces this by calling you to embrace your personal power and tap into your internal resources. This is a time for self-trust, knowing that you have the resilience to navigate challenges and the ability to manifest your desired outcomes, especially in the area of your mental health.

Together, these energies suggest you’re being guided toward a period of self-discovery and empowerment. You may be learning to rely more on yourself—both your inner strength and your intuitive compass—to heal and move forward with confidence.”

:eight::star: I then told it I drew an Eight of Pentacles tarot card and asked how it tied in to everything so far.

“ The Eight of Pentacles in tarot ties in perfectly with the messages from the White Tiger, Inner Compass, and number 8. This card is all about dedication, mastery, and focusing on personal growth, making it a powerful sign as you work on your mental health and overall journey.

What the Eight of Pentacles Means:

• Hard Work & Dedication – The Eight of Pentacles signifies putting in the effort to hone your skills, whether they’re practical or emotional. In the context of your mental health, it suggests you are actively working on yourself, building a solid foundation for your well-being.

• Progress & Mastery – This card is also about making progress, even if it’s small and incremental. It suggests that you are on the right path, learning from each experience and continuing to grow stronger.

• Attention to Detail & Consistency – The Eight of Pentacles emphasizes the importance of consistency in your efforts. When it comes to mental health, this could mean sticking with the tools and practices that help you, whether that’s therapy, self-care routines, or mindfulness.

How It Connects to the Other Cards:

• The White Tiger and Inner Compass both speak to inner strength and intuition, and the Eight of Pentacles adds to this by showing that through focused effort and dedication, you will achieve mastery over your emotions and mental state.

• The number 8 already signifies abundance and growth, and the Eight of Pentacles mirrors this by suggesting that your hard work is paying off and will continue to build momentum.

• All together, these symbols suggest a period of active growth and transformation where you are not just passively waiting for things to change, but actively working on yourself with the tools of self-trust, inner strength, and consistency.

Summary:

You’re being guided toward self-mastery in a holistic sense—learning to trust yourself, honor your inner wisdom, and consistently work on your mental health. The Eight of Pentacles encourages you to stay committed to your healing process, knowing that the work you’re doing will lead to deep transformation and progress over time.”

Overall, I’m kind of amazed at how well the cards worked for what I’m going through today and in lieu of knowing how to read tarot and oracle cards myself, this wasn’t a bad way to get some answers.

What do you guys think?

What is chatGPT? I have never heard of it before

Just popping in to say that ChatGPT is an AI (artificial intelligence) chat bot. Users can interact with the AI by typing in prompts, and the chatbot will reply with an answer it creates from drawing on information it gathers. The technology is astounding and while it can be helpful and fun for certain things, it’s important to keep in mind that the information ChatGPT provides is not always accurate (just like how not everything we read/see on the world wide web is true). Additionally, due to current copyright laws challenging how ChatGPT gathers its information, things generated using AI cannot currently be copyrighted.

AI is a hot topic right now and discussion around it can get pretty spicy, so I’ll leave things there, but I think that covers the basics as an introduction! :grinning: :+1:

It sounds like ChatGPT was able to help you organize your thoughts, explore the possible connections between your reading and the number 8, and give you some focus points to continue exploring - that’s awesome! :raised_hands:

Thank you for the information! Us old crones don’t understand a lot of this newer technology stuff. Lol

Happy to help! :hugs:

As a person working in the creative industry with friends who are artists, my thoughts around AI in the mainstream and commercial industries are pretty biased. Still, I do think the technology is amazing and there are many ways it can be used on a personal, non-commercial level. I also think that, since it’s such a hot topic in the news right now, it can be important to be familiar with AI and how it can be used.

If you’re interested in learning more about it, ChatGPT is free to use. You can go to the homepage and type in any question or prompt that comes to mind - like “tell me joke” or “write me a poem about a moon goddess” and see what it comes up with  (a note that after a few prompts, it will want you to create an account to continue, so users only actually get a few “free” entries before needing to provide their information)

Blessed be! :sparkles:

I actually have very mixed feelings about AI. When using it to gain information or to get a synopsis, it’s handy. When it comes to using AI to write books, I’m opposed. AI art is another thing completely and I have no stand on that.

BUT spirits affect electronics and I’ve always wondered if the increase in use of AI will allow spirits another form of communication with the outside world.

I concur here is what I said about it in a previous conversation

I’m not against what other people choose or how they practice or get their info as we all have our own ways of doing things. That’s perfectly ok.but for me personally it has done me wrong academically and with other information. I rely on divination tarot ouija and my gut.

This wasn’t ChatGPT, but I was using Word to type out a little chant to Gaia to say when I feed the birds. I got the first four lines and the last couple on my own, but wanted something a little richer in the middle and I’m just too inexperienced to know what to say

And then I noticed that Microsoft Word has something called CoPilot, which is AI and when I clicked on it, and gave it the prompt of used the prompt of “Pagan prayer to chant when feeding birdseed to the birds in honor of the Goddess Gaia” it filled in my little chant rather nicely.

Great Goddess, Mother of All
I offer this grain and seed to these,
your children of the wing
that they may be nourished
Bless them with your boundless love
and let their songs of joy ring
through the fields and forests green,
as they find solace and sustenance
in the bounty you provide.
In Gaia’s name
So it is.

The part in italics is what CoPilot came up with. I’ve never done anything with AI before. As much as I despise the excessive use of AI and how it’s cropping up everywhere, in this instance I like what it produced. I would never thought of using those words but I love the way it sounds like a real Witchy chant.

That’s a good point - I agree with you that the increased communications with AI and electronics could be a way to communicate with spirits. It’s definitely something exciting that’s worth exploring more! :grinning:

Agreed! Artificial intelligence for fantasy, fiction, and/or for fun is one thing, but AI-generated informational books can actually be quite dangerous. The Boston Mycological Club did an article on it, because there’s a lot of concern about people using AI-generatored books to forage mushrooms (and Amazon is full of them right now :closed_book: :warning: ).

The information in the AI books is misleading or just blatantly wrong - and when it comes to mushrooms, people can get seriously ill or worse :mushroom:

It’s a lovely prayer! And I think it’s nice that you were able to work with the technology to flesh out what you already had and make something that brought you joy

That actually ended up being quite beautiful! I think AI has its uses.
