I decided I needed meditation in my life and I discovered the candle meditations here are very useful. I love the voice and the ‘just right’ length. I also built an altar and fitted it with the usual things but I decided that candle meditation, tarot draw (to establish a mood/thoughts) were almost immediately helpful. I also use stones during meditation but not sure they are necessary but I love the looks of the ones I have. I now use the altar less frequently - mostly to cleanse/bless and set my mood. I also use runes to mark my tools.
In any case, thanks to the great layout of the site and the plethora of information.
My name is Kat, and I’ve been practicing the craft for over 30 years. My practice is rooted in a blend of nature magick, green magick, and elements of hedgecraft. I work closely with the natural world, drawing inspiration from plant spirits, animal spirits, and liminal spaces. My interests include herbalism, gardening, and divinatory practices like tarot, throwing bones, and Lenormand.
I also have a meditation practice. I use guided meditations on YouTube and the Balance Meditation app, which has wonderful guided meditations.
There is a wonderful search function that will help you dig for more information in the forums!
