Experienced something different

I helped my family one of my mom sisters yesterday to get through a court battle with eviction and everything went as it was supposed to the court day got pushed to September but later on that evening she started being mean and wicked to me and then she turned in to a demon later that night and was in my face hollering at me and then she messaged me she was sorry I didn’t reply back but I helped her and she treated me mean my other aunt didn’t like how she was acting I plan leaving from this situation any day now and try to completely ignore her because she acts so nice but be so mean and I can’t understand why she treat the ones that help her bad I also helped my cousin and he turned on him also it was like they were my enemies and not my family and I just sat there watching listening and thinking why

I’m sorry this is happening to you. Stress makes people do ugly things. Have you thought of medical reasons? I mean, does he have any mood problems, or is this the first time it’s happened? Does she need a medical workup? Things like that.

Just remember, though, either way, you should never set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm. Take care of you.

Sending good vibes to you!

Thoughtful Thursday Kocarika,

Yes, family dynamics can be exhausting. Is it possible it is a mood disorder? (Bi-polar, or something).

No matter what is happening, you have to do what is right for YOU. You cannot allow other people’s happiness [or lack thereof] to dictate how you want to live your life. I know this is hard, especially in the moment. You need to try to not react when they are

I think that often is a sign of control. They are looking how to get your anger up, to diffuse their anger. What I am saying, is if they can upset you, then there is no longer their stress, but they can focus on your anger. Completely disassociating their anger [frustration, what-have-you]from themselves and focusing on your anger issue.

I know, sounds like an oxymoron, and it is!!

I suggest meditation and grounding for yourself to keep your head together. I actually speak with Athena (East and Air) daily and ask for her wisdom to guide me through the day. I also ask Tiamat (West, Water) for her help of control through the chaos [she is a Mesopotamian primordial goddess]. These 2 Goddesses and what they represent, wisdom and self-control, help me to get through each day. Each evening, likewise, I thank them for giving me the strength and help through the day.

That is all I can offer you. Just remember –

  • I am Vital
  • I am Strong
  • I am Unique
  • I Belong

This affirmation I find useful and uplifting the moment you say it.

Thinking of you and sending you all good vibes!!

I just looked them both up and the entire time I stayed calmed and I didn’t let them make me want to feed into it and now I’m thinking that’s what they was both trying to do make me react but I was strong but what bothers me that it’s family it’s not strangers on the street it’s close people who been in my life I’m definitely gonna work with them both thank you so much

This has happened to me so often that I escaped half way across the country and no longer have contact with them. If you try something similar, be aware they may try to trick you into coming back to them. It is an issue of power over. You seem to be one who, like me, prefers power with. Hold onto your preferences, your values, and your sanity. You are worth it.

My mother prefers to keep things secret, so she has never been diagnosed. In my young adulthood, I gave up on fighting teenage angst and began acting out what goes on at home. No one believed me because Mom looked so put together and kept things in the closet. So she never got help, but I was diagnosed with all kinds of stuff which I still consider hers, not mine. Speaking my truth didn’t help- only escape did. May you have better luck handling them.

When I came across strangers acting like that, later, I was able to protect myself through recognition. I told the instigators they were not my mother and kicked them out of my life. Be strong. You got this! You don’t have to become like them. :purple_heart:

Scary Saturday,

Georgia, Kocarika,

Yep, myself too, and still did not quite work as I wanted it to.

I have to say this was difficult, but yes, finally stopped trying to please others by doing what is right (as a teenager, we are always trying to “fit-in”)

This is a benefit that many do not understand, hind-sight. Now, you know what it looks like, and you know how it disguises itself. More power to you!!

By knowing what we are dealing with…

Then you are about 80% ahead of the game to start with.

You Go, Baby!!!

I’m proud of you for supporting independence and happiness in life. You go girl! Be the best you which you can be- for you, and to show those who come after that it can be done! You become the teacher and hero, which is a cool form of witchery, affecting those in future generations to be the best they can be, too.
