For Magical TTRPG Fans - New Game Coming Tomorrow!

Merry meet!

I know everyone here is a fan of magick, and I also know there are at least few fans of fantasy magic and games as well :dragon_blue:

For those who enjoy jumping into other worlds and crafting stories, there is a new TTRPG (Table Top Role Playing Game) releasing tomorrow. Daggerheart is by Darrington Press and some of the folks at Critical Role, and is a collaborative storytelling role-playing game similar to Dungeons & Dragons.

Anyone wanting to release some powerful, real-world-physics-defying magick in fantasy worlds has some choices. While most types of characters can use magic in some form, there are a few especially ideal for casters:

(All pictures are from Daggerheart, by Darrington Press:)

Bard for music, song, dance, and word magic

Druid for nature and animal magic

Sorcerer for arcana magic

Wizard for studied magic

Those interested can have a chance making characters and playing some introductory stories this week - there are going to be games (some free, others cost money) hosted both online and in-person at game stores.

→ More information and a list of places to find a game can be found on their website: Hop into Daggerheart Launch Games at FLGSs and Online at StartPlaying! - Daggerheart

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Daggerheart nor Darrington Press, I just really love TTRPGs and am super excited about this game!

Do you like roleplaying games? If so, I’d love to hear about your characters!

Blessed be, and may the dice roll ever in your favor :game_die:

Yay!!! I’ve really enjoyed watching their YT videos as they were play testing Daggerhart. Their characters were hilarious and fun! Fun new playable character types. Love Critical Role  :game_die:

I may have to see if I can find a launch event!

Same here! They’re talented players and actors and just a whole lot of fun to watch

Yay! I’m completely out of control and signed up for two (and barely managed to refrain from a third event) - I don’t have the time or energy for them, but FOMO took the reins and it’s happening

I hope you can find a good event! Happy playing :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :game_die:

@BryWisteria Omg thank you so much for sharing this! As soon as i read this a few days ago i was obsessed and the more i researched i just couldnt not get the set so since i asked everyone not to get me anything on Mothers day and today which is my 16th Wedding anniversay, i asked for this. I have always been in love with ttrpg but never persue it as i dont have anyone to play with but with gameshops, meet-ups and online forms as well, there is a range of ways to play with others who also enjoy the same thing. I had also purchased beautiful dice set today as well and have been busy trying to find time to read the core book. Cant wait to read all the posts here and thank you again :heart:

@Artemisia I have missed mine here was busy both days as its during the week and had just enough time to pick up the game thats it. Hopefully they have a day where newbies can come and have a go in the future.

Hooray for the new game set and the dice - that’s so exciting! I empathize completely about the struggles with finding an in-person group. I haven’t been too lucky with finding local players either (local groups seem to be always full, for children/teens, or not the most welcoming - which is why they aren’t full  ) but I’ve had much better luck finding groups online. Startplaying has groups that are paid and sometimes free - I’ve used them a couple times now. There are also groups on Facebook or Meetup, too.

I hope you can find a great group - have fun playing! :game_die: :sparkles:

I’m not familiar with Critical Dice, but I just took a look and they have some interesting videos about playing TRRPGs! Thank you for sharing about them

Yay! There’s always a learning curve to any new hobby or skill, but I think the time spent learning will help you have even more fun when you play.

Happy rolling! :game_die:
