I was just coming up for air from the forum when the landscapers drove by under my window. On the back of their truck was a trailer full of fresh pine! I chose to forego lunch in hopes of reclaiming a couple branches. I even found a stick from the ash tree outside my balcony.
I pulled off the needles two by two, organizing them by length. Gathered one length for a besom, another for an anti negativity brush, and a third for a “corn dolly” I’d made when I cut my hair, yesterday. I used regular hair bands to fasten these into bunches and pushed sticks into the bunches where necessary.
Now I have done some crafting that makes me happy, there is a fresh brush to rid myself of negativity, I am drying some pine needles for incense for the winter, and my bedroom smells like Yuletide!
Note for those who are fastidious: don’t do this craft on the bed! I made a mess! However, pine is a sweet scent to sleep with.
I try to make these as often as possible- once a year is about normal. The former besom can then be used for the next season’s pine incense.
Happy Crafting!
