Last night, I was finally able to get to Old Town for a free concert. This may have been the first time out in 8 years.
For two of those years, I was in Indiana. When I got back, the city cut up the roads to put in new barriers and a bus system which lets people off in the middle of the road. They thought it would be safer. It simply ruined access to stores for tourists.
The rest of the time I was unable to get to entertainment was caused by Covid.
Enough of that. Time to heal!
Old Town hosted Big K and Blue Train. The group is local, though they had fans from South Africa at the concert. People were dancing in the aisles to Motown and what they called Old Time Soul.
The string lights made me feel like I was in a spider web which was glistening with dew.
I’m about ready to go back: another blues and soul group is playing at 7 tonight, and another at 1, tomorrow.
Monsoon season has started in Albuquerque. Temps have dropped from 106° to 80° yesterday, 84° expected today. I might as well enjoy what I can while I can! Recharging
