Fun Friday (Part 1)

I bet at least a few of them had guys working on a car with no shirt on. LOL!

Escape to Witch Mountain was always my favorite book. There was a sense of escape from real life and a feeling that I might belong.

I could be facetious, count each individual item, and say beads. However, a close second is charms. I use them for jewelry and magick, sure, but I also use them to decorate my mini yule tree!

Hmm. Packing idea just hit me. Thanks!

I’d enjoy that! At the moment, I’m feeling deeply Huffelpuff rather than my usual Ravenclaw, though. I’m not sure I could focus well on my studies. See if one of my teachers can explain or remove the sound of breathing in my room, a breath with no apparent source, which does not correspond with my own breathing pattern. I’m so exhausted, my efforts have had no effect on it.

We had to write a story similar to this in a creative writing class I took long ago. I failed miserably with Sleeping Beauty. Lots of water under the bridge since then, and I’ve learned a lot, but I still have no confidence in following someone else’s work. I’d rather write my own.

I spoke my truth, expressing what I was told and what I knew. No one listened to me, so I put my move into a deeper jeopardy by alerting my caseworker to possible fraud rather than allow the short term benefits in my life and later attempt to cast blame where it belongs. If I allowed the fraud based upon my exhaustion, terror, frustration, and confusion, I’d be trapped within the mess, accepting partial blame. I’d rather lose everything I own and start afresh now. It would happen anyway. I’m only saving face by following my values.

OK, I’ll quote Hermione: “It’s LeviosA!”

I’ve done that, too. No worries. Just give it some time and pick up the first book again or binge watch the movies or series again. How many times have I rewatched Stargate or Harry Potter or North and the South? :upside_down_face:

I tend to stop at Prisoner of Azkaban (gotta have my patronum) for the same reason.

Everyone has mentioned wonderful things to be proud of. I’m proud of you all! Great job everyone for personal bests!

  1. When I was a pre-teen I was absolutely besotted with the pony books by the likes of Ruby Ferguson and the Pullein-Thompson sisters. I was pony mad at the time and those books taught me everything I knew about horses before I managed to convince my parents to pay for riding lessons for me. I would love to go back to those simpler times when all that mattered was time spent on my pony’s back, traveling through the English countryside and being with my pony mad friends.

  2. I think I have more crystals than anything else in my witchy collection, especially since I get more crystals in my subscription box from Writual Planner each Sabbat.

  3. If I went to Hogwarts today, I’d have to be one of the professors – I’m 69 years old, after all! LOL

  4. They really over do it with sequels to movies these days. It seems no one can come up with an original idea – it’s all Part 2, Part 10 or whatever. I am an LOTR fan though, and would probably get into anything that delved deeper in that world.

  5. Proud that I have stuck to my intentions of meditating and exercising daily, and I’m getting more creative time in as well

2.Are there any Crafty tools that you use for something else besides it’s purpose?
3.What are you working on in your magickal world right now?

5.If you could try a new cuisine in the next week, what would you choose?

Here are my answers

1.There is a certain energy in the air at the moment, so spent a lot of time in gratitude last night, perhaps tonight I’ll finish it with releasing that which needs to go.
2.Just my burning plate I think, every now and again I put water in it to practice scrying - the silver bottom makes it easier somehow lol.
3.Making it spin. I’ve had things on pause for a while now, but I’ve taken steps and it has started spinning. I don’t have full rotation or optimum speeds, but I’m on the way!
4.Honestly, I used to say Donatello because his mask was purple and he had all the gadgets, but looking back I think I relate more to Splinter haha!
5.Probably Asian cuisines - my stomach prevents me from trying for real, but some of it just looks so lush

@kayla31 I’m a Card Dragon too, I absolutely love that phrase! And super well done for pulling yourself out of a spiral before it developed, I know just how hard that is so treat yourself to a lil something!
@anon59397935 Two and a Half Men = yaaaaasssss!! And thank you :kiss_mark:
@Feathertip I now know what an Oriole is, and they’re beauties so well done you!
@Amethyst I totally forgot about incense lol! And well done learning the Irish deities, hang in there!
@dan3 a farce of Mission Impossible = yaaaaassss!! And well done for remembering the SO’s birthday, I hope the party went well!
@Limeberry Harrypotterharrypotterharrypotter :clap: :clap: :clap:
@Mystique Hocus Pocus = yaaaaasss!! Although I haven’t watched HP2, I just don’t want to be let down haha, you can’t top I put a Spell on you!
@Greenbriar now that is a thought, maybe we should totally go back as professors! Professor Nikki, Combo Magick

  1. :house_with_garden: I am starting a 28 day manifestation ritual to draw our new home and land to us.
  2. :scissors: I can’t think of any.
  3. :prayer_beads: My manifestation ritual is kind of a woven cord/prayer bead situation. I have woven together (like a friendship bracelet) green, brown, and gold embroidery floss. At intervals I have woven in lodestone (magnetic) beads. I have put in 27 beads (3x3x3). At the end of the cord I wove in a key. I start at the end without the key and I say a spell, then as I meditate I pull each bead toward me, thinking about something I am grateful for about our new home and land. I do this 27 times until I pull the key into my hand. I will do this everyday for 28 days.
  4. :purple_heart::turtle: Donatello! My favorite color as a kid was purple and I was in karate for a short time and learned to use a bō (the staff).
  5. :fork_and_knife_with_plate: I would love to try food from Eastern Europe. I’ve been watching Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives recently and he has featured some really neat Eastern European food.

  1. Any plans for the New/Dark/Black/Noir Moon, or just another day? - I wrote a Healing Spell so I am going to burn some Herbs and recite my Spell with my chosen Deities. I am also going to create a Good Health Spell Jar :jar:Army too. I will post the Spell Jar :jar:Army once I have finished it!

  2. Are there any Crafty tools that you use for something else besides its purpose? - Candles :candle:! I always have candles lit in my apartment even when I’m not doing a ritual. I love the calming smell of candles :candle:

  3. What are you working on in your magickal world right now? - I am making Spell Jar Armies :jar::rofl::joy:

  4. Who was (is) your favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle? - I never watched this show never caught on. Isn’t there a pink one or is that something else? Or is that the other show with the helmet guys :joy::rofl:?!?

  5. If you could try a new cuisine in the next week, what would you choose? - I will be making the recipes that @Amethyst provided next week on Monday actually for my Dad and my Aunt. I am making the Chicken :chicken: Stuffing and Chocolate :chocolate_bar: Chip Banana  Bread :baguette_bread: with Gluten and Salted Butter :butter: ! Can’t wait. I will post pictures!!! Thank you SO, SO, SOOOO MUCH @Amethyst for showing me that I can actually cook!!! You are the best DEAR HEART !!

  1. I haven’t got anything I want to banish right now, when I sat down and really thought about it My leg is healing, my hand is almost healed, and things are going good. I got my lease renewed and my rent only went up six buck this year! So I’m concentrating on resting today instead.

  2. The Selenite bowl I use for cleansing my daily crystals. Sometimes when I have to take my rings off, I put them in there, just to keep track of them.

  3. In addition to trying to learn the names of the Irish Gods, I’m reading up on Norse Paganism. So I’m trying to twist my brain around Norwegian and Swedish words now. Not to mention the Icelandic.

I should have an in on that, my Dad grew up in Minnesota and grew up speaking Norwegian and Swedish both. Didn’t even start on English till later in school.

Unfortunately, all I got was being able to call someone a lat mask if they’re lazy, saying oof dah a lot, and an aversion to Lutefisk.

  1. Raphael! All the way! He was totally rad!

  2. Hmm, maybe Indian? Mild curries, mainly. Butter chicken sounds good.

I’ll get there! I’m just repeating the same lesson over and over. It’s working, I think, because my brain is starting to say the right pronunciations, despite the American spelling.

You’re welcome! I bet it’s going to come out great!

1.Any plans for the New/Dark/Black/Noir Moon, or just another day?

Nothing on my path but on my personal quest, I’m revamping my exercise plan (which affects my path indirectly).

2.Are there any Crafty tools that you use for something else besides it’s purpose?

All my tools are used for alternate purposes. There is a saying that when all you have is a hammer, then everything is a nail. I carry that to extremes sometimes. I use 3d printer beds as display tables, my candle holder and crystals for weights, my spell jars as convenient holders for the dross in my projects, etc.

3.What are you working on in your magickal world right now?

Runes are cropping up. Cards are always there. Meditation for a lost friend. Quite a bit in the end.

4.Who was (is) your favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle? And don’t worry if you’ve never seen it… https://youtu.be/CJDBuCBCh_A

Haven’t seen it but did see previous TV versions. No favorite except for the names. I always thought their naming was the best part. For me, Donatello is cool.

5.If you could try a new cuisine in the next week, what would you choose?

I’m counting last night’s birthday party for the SO. Nice restaurant, great menu. I tried Crusted Cod Sushi. Pretty good.

I pit my rings in my selenite bowl too! BUTTT THEY ARE CRYSTAL RINGS TOO LOL! I want to cleanse those bad boys too!

Yeah, mine are stainless steel and silver. I just figure they’ll stay safe there and it can’t hurt to clease them!

I totally agree! My claddagh ring i never knew had crystals until a few years ago, so I never cleaned it! I didn’t realize that the Garnet inside and all along the band was a Crystal

Counting on the long-term side of things in hoping for a new apartment before I have to be out of this one. Seven days left, and no word yet, but this is the weekend. Patience is tricky.

When I was learning, I was told to keep Crafty items sacred by not using them for anything else. Yet I find myself using my altar table as a regular table to help with cleaning cages and reminding myself to pack certain items. Since the rest of the altar supplies are already packed, I guess it doesn’t matter at the moment.

I just came to the realization that those who test us (like gold is tested in fire) are revealing their values to be tested in return.

I never got into TMNT. When they started, I was too old to watch. I did see a movie, once. It wasn’t my cup of tea, so I simply left them alone to focus on more important things (in my humble point of view). Nothing against them, I just couldn’t relate.

I have found myself in need of this! My favorite Oriental celebration restaurant went out of business- illness in the family. I’ve tried places, seeking my favorite dish: shrimp in lobster sauce. Learned how to make it for myself, in case I don’t find anyplace for my next birthday. One place was take out only, and made it into a soup. Not interested in hot soup on a hot day, sorry. Another made gravy of it, which is the correct consistency, but put too many onions in it. Tasted funny. A third place puts pepper in everything: allergic. When asked to remove pepper, there is no gravy. I’ll keep looking.

Crossing my fingers for you!

I’m sorry you never got into them! TMNT is a thing you should never be too old for! Having a favorite Turtle is a thing, like picking between Batman and Superman.

BATMAN FTW! :bat:

I hope you find a good place soon! Too bad you can’t find the owners of the old place and get a recommendation.

  1. I watched a New Moon in Virgo meditation from the Curious Yogi (Suchi ) on YouTube and did a short ritual.
  2. Not that I can think of
  3. Deepening my connection with nature, and learning more about herbology.
  4. Teenage who? LOL. No, seriously, I’ve heard of them, but never watched them - I guess I’m too old.
  5. I’m not very adventurous with food. I know what I like and I stick to it. That said, I would love it if they opened up a decent Indian restaurant near us. Being a Brit, I practically grew up on curries, poppadoms and naan bread, and I’ve missed that here. There are some Indian places in Houston, but I’m not in to driving over an hour (and not leaving the city) for dinner.

We have several in Albuquerque, neighbor. Travel for a meal is tricky, though, especially across the desert like it is. May your area become more culturally varied, soon!

You know, I just googled “Indian restaurants near me” and there are actually a couple within a 10 mile radius that might be worth looking into. One of them has a good rating on Yelp, so we might have to give that a try. :curry_rice: :flatbread:

Eric and I both hate driving at night now, with sight issues, so we will have to Uber it.

Well helloooooo fabulous friends! :waving_hand:t4:

That weekend flew by faster than Concorde  and it’s the start of a new week. So here are some Mystical Monday questions - sit back and enjoy!

  1. When you hear the word “serene”, what do you think of?
  2. If your familiar could be any mystical/mythical creature, what would you choose?
  3. If you could design a 3-course meal, what would be on your menu?
  4. Have you watched/seen/heard anything lately, that made you feel as though it was a message for you?
  5. What is the last Crafty item you bought?

1 I see a shimmering ocean stretching out to the horizon, an island of green grass with a circle of Willow trees. The wind gently blows pink sakura tree leaves in a mesmerising dance through the air, as I walk across the wooden bridge, sit down in the center of the circle, and breathe.

2 DRAGON!!! Once again, my immediate thought was of Falcor from The Neverending Story, but honestly, any dragon will do. As long as it’s big enough to carry me, I’m not fussy.

3 soooo many possibilities! Starter would probably be a variety of canapés because I love them, mains would be something filling and substantial like a Brit-Maican celebration dinner (think carvery plus lots more lol), and dessert would be something fun and miniature like mini jelly flutes (with and without alcohol), apple pies, hedgehogs, mini strawberry cheesecakes and roses, basically party food lol!

4 This happens to me qiite a but, but lately, I seem to be getting the message to keep going - through a variety of mediums, from movies to my course instructor. Message received loud and clear.

5 Errrrrm… well, technically I bought crystals and oracle cards in the same shop so, yeah. Although the crystals went into my basket first. Surprise surprise.

Have a magickal week everyone!

Lol, Serene Williams and tennis. I don’t think that’s the correct answer.

A niffler from Fantastic Beasts, I love that thing.

I wouldn’t, I’d call Gordon Ramsey and get him to do it instead.

Yes, I moaned for over a week to Thor about no rain, then when I had to walk about half an hour to get to my car with no-where to shelter, no brolly, no jacket, sky bright blue, he answers and dumps a literal flood on me. I looked like I’d gone swimming.

Some wooden bits, string, pens and bags, and sparkles to make spell pouches for Samhain.

Fabulous lovely, thanks for putting this together. :green_heart:

somewhere lush and green with a small waterfall or babbling brook nearby. I lay my blanket on the grass, lie back and either watch the clouds, or close my eyes and just listen – to the waterfall, to the flowing water in the stream, to birds in the nearby trees.

Pegasus – I love horses and to have a horse that could fly as my familiar would be very magical.

Hmmm I don’t cook and when we go out to eat, we rarely have dessert, but if I’m dreaming, my choice would be simple: garden salad as a starter, entree of sirloin steak (medium well) with baked/jacket potato with butter, sour cream and cheese, sauteed mushrooms and perhaps three grilled shrimp (surf and turf) and some grilled veggies. followed by cheesecake for dessert, or perhaps peach cobbler and ice cream - yeah, I’ll go with the peach cobbler and ice cream.

Not that I can think of.

I had knocked my altar bowl on the side of the sink when I went to wash it, and a huge chunk chipped off it, so I ordered another one from the same store on Etsy to replace it.
