Fun Friday (Part 3)

I think there’s something strange going on with time itself, the same thing happened to me… does anyone remember anything about last week or did we just skip one? Happy Fun Friday! :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Meditating on love and eating a lot of chocolatey and heart shaped things? :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: And being just a little more cute with my girlfriend :pink_heart:

Pick one

What I was about to write, “on my side, cuddling something or someone”

My first thought was a phoenix, I have absolutely no idea where that came from :innocent: Seriously though, rising from the ashes, how much more inspiring can you get? :fire: :phoenix:

The mushy texture of guacamole is kinda fun, but not a fan of the taste, I’m more of a salsa kind of girl (to no one’s surprise) :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :hot_pepper:

I don’t think so, it’s usually been quite lovely. Freya’s day, 13 moons, what’s to dislike. Unless you’re like, the patriarchy or something

On to this week… :grinning_cat:

I did, my father found me used mountain bikes through his contacts. I once got an old BMX bike with bright red tapes on it, it was pretty cool. I especially enjoyed riding bumpy, snaking forest paths on them  At least after I learned not to fall on my face with the roots :joy: I didn’t name any of them though, I guess it just wasn’t a thing here.

Maybe my yoga mat, it’s seen a lot of action of various kinds :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Meditating, singing, dancing, reading books and cards, doing yoga, hacking away on my computer, taking walks, exploring, trying on cute clothes, all kinds of things :growing_heart:

A cat sleeping in a sunbeam  :sun:

The kind that’s warm in front of me when I’m hungry  :cooked_rice:
Maybe jasmine if I had to pick one. With some tasty fried vegetables on the side, in teriyaki sauce perhaps. Sugoi!

I’m curious though, what is a banana seat?  My mind is conjuring up all kinds of funny images

Totally cool. Such a neat memento to have.

DO not feel bad friends! The first time my dad let me go on my bike without training wheels, I flew down the sidewalk, forgot all about brakes, hit a rock, somersaulted over the handlebars onto a neighbor’s yard, jumped up, got back on, and proceeded to run myself straight into the back of a parked car lol!!!

The seat is long and curves like a banana!

Created with AI. It’s very similar to my bike. I didn’t have the streamers and the flowers on the seat were darker.

Oh! That looks comfy  Much more so than my mental images

Definitely serene. Sorry to have mislead you. Hunting behavior displays massive patience and serenity.

I remember once walking in a woods by a small river in Ft Wayne. I heard a crane flying downstream. Hearing it’s wings touch the trees on either side of the river made me think there were dinosaurs in the area. It was awesome.

Maybe, I should preface this by letting y’all know that I made a deal with each of my birds. Peep or make some sound for yes, and be very quiet for no. If I ask something with a no answer, Albus will get very still, stare at me, and make no sound at all, as though time itself stops.

I asked Albus your question. He was snuggled by his mirror, but he turned his head to look at me when I was talking. Absolute silence.

When he woke from a nap, I asked what his favorite thing was. He hopped up to his water cup for a drink and a splash. Then he cocked his head in such a cute fashion. I’d only ever seen one other bird do that: my first zebra finch, Charlie, loved basking in the sunlight, like a cat. He’d cock his head and pant in a way which looked uncomfortable, but it looked like he truly enjoyed it, especially since getting into sunlight was a conscious choice he had to finagle.

:joy:

You sound like my cousins, out in the country. The oldest of the boys once told me of his memories of riding bikes in the snow. There was a rock path from the house to the barn. The boys would put a plank of wood over a mound of snow to ride over. They’d catch some air and go sailing a brief second. When they’d land, the snow would catch and hold their tires, and they’d go “a$$ over applecart, thwop, thwop, thwop,” and face plant, “whomp,” in the snow. I always enjoyed his stories because he would use sound effects and use his whole body to tell the story. Wes Harrison was very popular in that house!

Mine was much more flat, but yeah, long like the pic.

That was my first bad crash. I had won a prize, collected it, then was riding down a street clutching the prize and admiring it and rad into the back of a car. Over the handle bars except for the sensitive parts. Terminated the bike.

I was a boy. The SO and I didn’t have boys - we had girls and they rarely got into stupid fixes like boys do.

I was very much the tomboy when I was a kid and loved playing in the mud and with the boys of the neighborhood. I loved collecting those little hot wheel cars and one of my friends had a great big backyard that was nothing but mounds of dirt. We built the best racetracks! I didn’t get girly until my teens lol!

We’d have to consult with Albert Einstein about time and relativity, but yeah - time flies by sometimes and drags its butt other times!

Totally agree. That’s a great answer!

This all sounds very relaxing and fun! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Aww… :sparkling_heart:

OMG - Stephanie!! You must have scared your dad half to death!

That image of the bike is perfect. Great banana seat and you gotta love those streamers!

What an interesting question! Thank you!
This is what I found out with the help of Google:
In the late 15th century, a gold gulden (this is what this type of coin was called) was equivalent to a considerable quantity of goods. It was often more than a month’s wages for a construction worker. The coin was accepted as legal tender throughout the Holy Roman Empire and beyond.

Yes, my favorite food for all times. You could wake me up at three in the morning and I´d be ready for sushi.

Yes, this is true! I was born 73 and pretty much raised myself. But it also had massive downsides; growing up I had to work like an adult pretty early...and I don´t even want to talk about kids dying because they were left unsupervised at a very young age or due to accidents.

Weeellllll…now that you mention it…lucky me…I guess??

Oh, this is so sweet! I bet you´re a super cute couple! :purple_heart:

I see what you mean! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yes! It is not worth a huge amount of money today. On auctions those coins are sold for around 3000 Euros (like 3.500 US Dollar) and this could never replace the sentimental value it has for me.

Wow! That was quite an adventure! I had one bike accident as a kid
that brought me into the hospital and made me eat only soft things for the next five weeks.

Oh, that´s lovely! I would have loved this as a kid.

Same here! It was much better than being pressed into some rigid ideas of how a girl should behave.

Oh wow. That sounds awesome! It must have been a wonderful experience!

Oh yeah. It was awful for some kids. And I think it’s why we GenXers and that age sort of … over-coddled isn’t the best word, but you know what I mean. Helicopter parented the next generation. So they’re lost trying to do anything on their own. Hopefully, one of the generations will come out as a happy medium.

Although, if you got to see a younger Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp? I might take that curse. For a little bit.

Wow! I get to rub elbows with the rich and famous!

Perfect that it is made into a necklace, then.

I was up a tree, in a dress, reading a book until Mom cut the tree limbs I used. She beat those rigid ideas into me, and then wondered why my health suffered.

I know exactly what you mean, and yes!! You´re right! I´ve been in therapy for years to overcome some of those childhood related issues, years before I became a mom myself. AND my daughter is seeing a therapist supporting her through her teenage years. With all the internet social media madness going on and the political madness it´s a lot young people have to deal with these days.

Ah, no..those aren´t my celebrity crushes.

Haha, yes indeed! I like to say about myself, that I´m the richest person in the world - I just don´t have any money. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Yes, it really is tragic when parents try shaping a child according to their own ideals and not see or care that this is a complete human being, that doesn´t need to be shaped into anything. Being there to help and support, offering guidance, talking with each other respectfully (which always must go both ways!) and learning with each other.

I have a hard time staying away from technology, and I didn’t grow up with it. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to make your way in the world now with the internet. You couldn’t pay me enough to be a teen with Twitter and TikTok and all that!

Not mine either, but you know, they’re still pretty. As long as their egos don’t get in the way.

It’s another Friday, lovelies! Time for another Fun Friday!

Here are this week’s questions:

  1. It’s the last Friday of February! How did the month treat you?

  2. What’s your favorite fruit?

  3. What animal best represents power to you?

  4. What’s your favorite type of exercise?

  5. How often do you actually do it?

Slow, smooth improvement. I like this month.

I vacillate between cherries and raspberries. I enjoy fruit in general with very few items to avoid, though some are seasonal.

Hmm. Lions sleep as much as bears do. Besides, lions and tigers are just oversized house cats. Snuggle! Haven’t met a bear yet. I’m debating between dragon or blue whale. Yeah, dragons breathe fire and/or ice, but have you ever noticed how gently a whale with a fluke as big as a ship can put that tail down? Control denotes more power than destruction might, for me. Besides, in my youth I was impressed by an old photograph of a diver the size of the whale’s eye and the big grin on the whale’s face. At the same time, they dance and sing and play just as much as dolphins, only much more slowly because of their size.

Shopping. Keep my attention on something else, and I’ll be fine… until I’m not. Then feed me and make sure I have plenty to drink.

I like to go out at least once or twice a week. Sometimes every other day.

Wonderful! I’m happy for you!

I’m with you there - seasonal availability can be hard to wait for! And buying them at the store when they’re really out of season locally, usually means they’re not going to be that great.

I never thought about shopping as exercise before! But why not? You have to walk a lot and can get tired and carry things… great call!
