Good for you! There are a lot out there to choose from, and they do things we can’t do, like bring lawsuits against companies that are violating environmental rules, or even (ahem) the government! I forgot to mention that I donate, as well. I like the Union of Concerned Scientists and The Nature Conservancy.
But, but… it’s so cute!! So typical that a car will stop making the funny noise or vibration when someone else looks at it! I’m sure you still had a lot of fun driving it around in all its cuteness!

I bet we all do things to help. If on a trail, I pick up stuff tossed by others (though locally it isn’t a problem). I help wildlife in various ways (food when the weather is harsh, helping abandoned birds, etc). We were prompted by our youngest to separate trash (never had a way to do that long ago). Lots of little things like that.

Lots and lots of times. We used to manage houses as a side hussle and we’ve done just about everything including tearing down and replacing sides of houses. Usually due to termite or water damage. The SO likes accent walls so she always added something to every house. The youngest caught the bug and now has a business that does it in Seattle.
Do you have any wind-up clocks in your house?
We have a couple of Grandfather clocks if that counts. The small windups are scarce now.
It’s amazing how much healthier it can be for you, too. And I agree 100% it does matter where your food is sourced from!
Oh, I bet that thing was so much fun! Sounds like you had a long relationship with both Toyota and Honda. They both have a reputation for the kinds of cars you buy and know they won’t self-destruct at 30K miles.
But you’re also transferring these good values along! Just knowing how to tackle a room can save you so much money - and paint is expensive enough by itself these days.

We do what we can. I’ve read that certain municipalities avoid plastics recycling because of so many weights, colors or something along those lines.
A Suzuki sounds like a blast! I don’t remember the Swift model, though.
Now that I do remember! Back when I was a young Feathertip, my boyfriend’s older sister bought a brand new one for Six! Thousand! Dollars! and we were all in awe. By year three, it was ready for the car crusher.

I reuse as many grocery bags as I can get my hands upon. They are my trash can liners, since I prefer using smaller cans and taking them out more often, but only when full. I use holey bags to take out give-aways and larger trash items or to transport library books and return items I borrowed. My apartment complex 's recyclers do not accept grocery bags. I have been known to donate clean, used bags to thrift stores.
I refuse to shower until I start to smell. Since I don’t do a lot, I don’t stink as quickly as those who are more active. This also helps to reduce laundry use, also saving wear and tear on my clothes.
I don’t smoke.
I car pool as best I can to reduce emissions. Since I don’t drive, I use other forms of transportation as best I can. I stay as close as possible to bus lines and walk to get groceries when I can.
I unplug electronics which are not in use. The bathroom fan does not turn off, so I am stuck with it as it is. Albus uses the CD player all day for music, and I have a water distiller rather than carry water in plastic bottles. The plastic bottles I do get, I clean out and reuse for Kool Aid until they mold or until I get sick and germy to the point of being scared to reuse anything. At night, the only lights I use are from the computer or I open the blinds to see by the street lights outside.
Summer a/c is set at 74°. Windows are sealed to keep out summer heat and winter cold. North facing windows also help in regulating internal temps.
I reuse newspapers for birdie bottoms. These must be black and white, since colored inks mix with bird doo to create toxic fumes. Many newspapers no longer print in black and white, so I also reuse non glossy mail and pencil puzzle pages as birdie bottoms.
I recycle what I can. This is much less than I had once hoped, since paper products are not clean when I remove them from my home, glass is not allowed, and plastics are limited.
When my clothes are holey, I recycle them as rags, especially for the nose during winter illnesses. This saves paper. I’d originally wanted to attempt a quilt, but that fell through. My driver also uses old clothes rags as insulation around pipes.
I keep a list of foods I have in the apartment. This keeps me from opening the fridge or freezer to peruse what sounds good to eat. Many have said that keeping the freezer full reduces the time the motor needs to run to keep things cold.
In the coldest nights of winter, I have been known to pin blankets to outer walls to hold in the heat. I also use draft dodgers on all doors: they hold out smells, sounds, and bugs from shared hallways and keep my heat or A/C in.
I learned from one who lives in an RV that not all toilet paper dissolves properly. Thus I use the 1000 sheet thin stuff to ensure my waste footprint is as small as possible. Besides, the rolls last me longer than the thicker brands.
My apartment complexes always have free tables for items I no longer wish to use or times when I want to simplify. If the items are of higher quality, I will donate them to those who host Bingo.
I do not own property. Part of this is honor to the planet. Another part is that the apartment complex must do the upkeep, so I don’t have to own all that machinery or pay someone else to do the work for me.
I don’t watch TV, so I don’t own another piece of electronics which uses more electricity and could easily get stolen.
Just a reminder, folks: high humidity makes people feel hotter, not cooler. Melting copper is where arsenic comes from, so why would anyone cook on copper?!? Thank you. I’ll get off my soap box, now.

I used to enjoy wind up clocks which chime. Grew up with one on the wall. There was once a store which sold clocks and pianos, and I bought a mantle clock from them. They went out of business. A peach faced love bird chewed my mantle clock, so I gave up on having something nice like that. Kept Grandpa’s wind up pocket watch for a while until Mom needed the money- he couldn’t wear any other kind because his body drained batteries, somehow.

I just noticed your entry. We also have a couple of dead clocks inherited from the SO’s mom. We keep thinking about bringing them to life but they will require new innards. Not a big problem but we actually have one mounted in her memory and it doesn’t move. We both like it that way.
I wish they’d do both plastics and Styrofoam around here somewhere. Those are awful, but hard to get rid of!
It was a little sedan-type car. Four doors and a hatchback. Back then I could get from Southern WV to Washington, DC on one tank of gas for just over twelve bucks! It didn’t go over 65 well, which made it fun to drive in the big city.
I’ve heard more than once that Pintos were more like the beans than the horse they were named after. Easy to make them explode.
Well! It’s true! My right thigh has lymphedema and is all huge and stuff, so it wouldn’t fit in!

I donate clothes to Charity and the clothes I do wear they usually are very worn before I dispose of them
My Gas & Electricity Supplier is Octopus which primarily uses renewables energy from wind and solar.
Grow my own, herbs, vegetables as much as I can, and buy local produce/UK to reduce my carbon footprint.
I buy Eco Plant Products for cleaning my home to reduce micro plastics, chemicals and pollutants going into the watercourses, rivers and the ocean.
I use organic peat free compost, natural weed control in my gardens and do not use any pesticides not only for my plants but it can be toxic to my Koi Fish.
I donate monthly to The National Trust to Plant a Tree which I have done since 2021 They are committed to plant millions of different trees species and I want to be part of that to help Mother Earth fight back.
If I do buy something I make sure it comes from ethical authorised sources.

@Amethyst yes it was fast good for women drivers with the position of the pedals. Small compact. I was upset to have to let it go but we needed a larger car. I had fun whilst I had it. The donuts I must admit they are really good hot and sweet. I find the shop brought ones to thick and heavy
That’s not a bad idea, really! I might be doing that myself with the 130-year old, if I can’t get this repair guy to take it! I’d like to have it running just well enough to show my mom that I had it fixed. I really didn’t want to take it on, frankly, but no one else stepped up to claim it.
