When I was a kid, we had a Mercury in two tones of gold that I named Goldie Gold. Bonus points to GenXers who remember that was a cartoon!
Our carnivals were usually in May, and it was a mixed bag. I loved them, but my Dad was totally paranoid about the carnies and how they would put up the rides and how many people have died on a Tilt-A-Whirl. Seriously, never go someplace like that with a guy who reads all the weird news coming over the AP at the newspaper. I was convinced if I got on the Caterpillar and moved my arms an inch, they’d be lopped off.
Scrambler and Tilt-a-Whirl. Never got on a Ferris Wheel either, really. See above answer for the reason why.
The Mindful Hearth. It’s about urban magic in small, shared spaces. Not that that’s me, but it was very interesting!
I do, and I loved going to see A Christmas Carol. I’ve also seen Annie, Annie Get Your Gun, Grease, and a few others. Oh, and Dracula! With a wire hooked up over the audience, it had a cape/bat flying over us! It went right over where we were sitting! I was ten, so it scared me and my friend a good bit. LOL!
Fun fact: most of these I saw at Grandview State Park, thanks to Theater West Virginia. It’s an outdoor amphitheater with gnats and mosquitoes, and it was really fun as a kid to go there and see things in the summer! This summer was the 65th anniversary of Honey and the Rock, a show about the founding of West Virginia, and the 55th anniversary of The Hatfields and McCoys. Guess we got there before Keven Costner for once!
I bet you liked that one that spun around and everyone was pressed up against the walls. LOL!
That sounds good! I would love to see how they got Audrey II on the stage to act!
Oh, I love her! I’ve seen her in Into the Woods, and she is awesome! She also played the Evil Stepmother in Brandi’s version of Cinderella with Whitney Houston, and I think she and the evil stepsisters stole the show!
Yeah, good choice! But if that thing starts popping out dents by itself, kill it with fire!
