What do you do with the gems and stones once the spell is complete? Do you reuse them or do you throw them away?
You’ve got a few options, for sure!
I’ve never heard of anyone throwing out their gems, crystals, or stones when a spell is done. However, you can set them aside until you need them again, or you can cleanse them and reuse them. Or you can hold on to them while the spell does its job.
I have heard of throwing away a stone, but that’s mostly either as a sort of sacrifice or offering, or as a receptacle for all your worry, anger, and fear. Then you chuck the stone away to get it all away from you, as far as you can.
But yeah, you can cleanse them by burying them in the earth, in salt, smoke cleansing, in the Full Moonlight. Some crystals, like selenite, are naturally cleansing, and they cleanse the others around them. So I put my crystals for the day in a selenite bowl, and they get cleansed and read for me to use.
Hope this helps!
That’s a good question, @alisha3. Some folks may want to respectfully dispose of any spell/ritual remains or fully give up any items they offered, so I’d say it depends on the spell/ritual/offering and the castor’s practice.
I’ll echo what Megan and Amethyst said - if your practice and beliefs allow spell items to be reused in similar or other spells, then there’s nothing wrong with cleansing the items to be used again in the future. I personally think reusing cleansed items is a sustainable (and more cost efficient!) way to cast spells ![]()
Whatever you choose to do, happy casting and blessed be! ![]()
