Ginger Hot Chocolate

Ginger Hot Chocolate

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
2 Servings

Ingredients:

3 cups whole milk
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground ginger
½ cup whipped cream
½ cup mini marshmallows

Directions:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and ground ginger.

Cook until the mixture comes to a simmer and the sugar has dissolved. This will take about 5 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the contents into mugs.

Top with whipped cream and mini marshmallows.

Serve immediately.

Notes:

A few notes on your new favorite beverage:

This sweet, spiced beverage is best made fresh, so plan ahead if you want to serve it to guests. “I wouldn’t recommend making the hot chocolate itself ahead of time, since it tends to get grainy when reheated,” Olayinka says, adding: “However, you can prepare all the ingredients.” And don’t forget to experiment or try transforming this stuff into a warm cocktail!

And if you do have any extra, while it may not be as sublime as the fresh stuff, it won’t go bad. “Leftover hot chocolate can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days, just reheat it gently on the stove before serving,” explains Olayinka.

Thanks, love! Glad you like!

I know that a lot of people use cinnamon in hot chocolate. So that would work. If you go to the search thingie in the upper right corner of the screen, you can search for hot chocolate recipes. I’ve posted quite a few over the Fall and Winter. You might like one of those better!

Glad you like this one, though!
