The reading was truly amazing, and yet surreal… before she’d even finished drawing the cards, she asked if I was psychic! Here was this total stranger, validating everything I’d secretly believed for decades; on the other hand, it was and still is, extremely daunting. What do you do when someone tells you that you’re a powerful psychic, empath and healer?! I’ll let you know when I figure it out lol…
Yes, I’ve done the self-initiation, Wicca level 2, BOM, and the whole tarot course. I have a few more on my list, but I added the goddess course to the list after the deity spread. I’ve been doing some reflection work today, an exercise I moderated for clients… maybe I’ll add it here tomorrow, it might help someone?

I’ll admit I’ve been lurking quite a bit, but it is very welcoming here so I’m sure it’ll feel like home in no time!
Hello and Blessed Be!! I know you already have many comments from your post, but I believe I can respond from a different perspective than most of the other members of this community. I was not only raised VERY Lutheran, I am ALSO an ordained Lutheran Minister - advance degree in Theology - the Full-Meal-Deal!! But about 20-years ago I also received some VERY direct communication from the Divine for my path during this incarnation that led to me to retire from ministry in the Christian religion, to become a Wiccan High Priestess.
I feel very strongly about the differences between religion, faith and spirituality. An in-depth study of these during my life has shown me there are more similarities than differences. The Divine has many faces and throughout human history has gone by many names. The Divine is infinite, and as humans with a finite mind we cannot truly understand this infinite presence of Creation, Love and Light. I believe that all the different names/incarnation of the Divine throughout time and culture have been the Ultimate Universe’s way for us to know the Divine. The simplest way for me to think about it is to think of the Divine like a prism: beautiful and clear, but when the light of understanding shines through it gives off so many wonderful colors!
Your path does sound like you are being called as a healer to share your gifts. It may (or may not) lead you to stay in the Christian religion… it may (or may not) lead you to follow a different religious path. But ALL these different paths can lead us to the same place - in a relationship with the Divine, practicing Love, Light and Service for ALL creation. I still believe much of my early Christian teachings, but with a GREATER and DEEPER understanding of the Divine’s presence in my life. My spiritual self is stronger, my relationship with God/Goddess (or whatever you decide to call the DIvine) is purer, my practices of my spirituality are broader, and I feel a deep kinship with ALL faiths much more than I used to feel.
I am sorry this got so long - but I feel this issue is important, because I deeply believe in Coexistence (I even have this tattoo!) and that no matter what spiritual practice we follow, we need to respect and accept those practices of others – or else humanity just might cease-to-exist.
Blessed Be!
Thank you so much for your thoughts, and I totally agree! This is probably better suited for the Christianity thread, but I have been pondering this exact concept for a while now; the possibility that everyone is worshipping the same Being, with different names, norms and rituals. I don’t believe anything would give me the right to tell someone else what they should believe, let alone hate them for it, and vice versa. I’ve told clients for years, as long as you’re not hurting yourself or anyone else, do what you need to do.
It’s nice to meet you, Nikki! I’m Marsha, an eclectic solitary witch from Colorado. I was raised in a Christian Church and I still struggle with my Christian past. You are not alone, there are a lot of us here.
I finally realized that what I do now (Reiki, Runes, Tarot, Astrology, etc.) is not evil! I work with a “Divine Energy Source” and “Angels” too! (Also Fairies, Unicorns, and Dragons!) When Christianity first appeared, it was called a Pagan Religion! However, through the years, it’s now the Earth-based religions, such as, “Wicca” that is called Pagan!
Yes, I’ve discovered that there are a lot of us around, and it’s lovely to know I’m not the only one facing that struggle. It’s something I’m working on moment to moment, but I am making progress; I spent a long time feeling guilty because I’ve essentially ignored the Goddess my entire life, and it took me a while to understand that that’s okay, and it helped when I found out She had been sending the signs.
And yaaaaassssss trying to upgrade the part of my brain which still believes this is evil is also a challenge… all those years of cramming scripture in every possible area of life, but neglected to mention they essentially stole paganism and adapted it… anyway, like I said it’s a daily struggle lol!
