I just wanted to say hello and that I joined to find a place with like minded people as I continue my practice. I’ve kind of always been solitary. Was raised to keep everything secret and never share the practice with anyone outside the family but with the modern era having such a large amou t of true practicioners out there… I find this in totality to be a silly way of thinking. Hope to learn a lot from everyone and may you all have a blessed day
I understand your reticence at spilling secret beliefs. May we always have the freedom to practice as we feel best!
I think you’re going to like it here. We gather from many countries all over the world! I’m glad you have joined us, and I’m looking forward to learning from and with you. Please join in any conversation with which you feel comfortable.
Hi @marc! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
It’s nice to meet you! I’m glad you decided to reach out. It must have been difficult keeping that secret, but I get where your family was coming from. Some people just aren’t open-minded.
We’re a pretty nice bunch of people, though! I’m an Eclectic Witch who likes candle magic and chants. I’ve also been trying to get into pop culture magic, but there aren’t a lot of books on that. I’ve been pretty much flying by the seat of my pants. LOL! Probably the best way to do it.
If you have any questions or anything, just ask, and someone will pop up and give you a hand. I look forward to getting to know you!
Welcome to our pack!! So excited that you found us. Yes, you are definitely safe to share your own self. Take plenty of time to look around. We have divination practices that you can join, we have Coven Daily Draw, a Lenormand and a Tarot thread, pop in any time and join us!!
I lived in PA for a year, the blizzard of 1978-1979, before and since, Vegas, Baby, Vegas. I have moved around but this is my home.
I hope you are doing okay in the weather right now. It seems that the East is being hit kinda hard.
Welcome, @marc and Merry Meet! We’re glad you’re here! We have a mostly solitary group here, but we’re a tight knit online Coven, and we support one another’s individual paths.
This is a safe place.
I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. I’m a lifelong Pagan, with a very Nature oriented practice. I love gardening, growing herbs and caring for all my non-human backyard residents. I practice Yogic meditation and use Lenormand cards for divination. I don’t work with deities, but I do have a whole lot of wonder.
Looking forward to seeing you around the forum and getting to know you better!
Merry Meet @marc I am Moonbeam a Hedge Witch from a small village in Lancashire, England and I also wanted to welcome you to the forum.
I am glad that you had your family to support you in your practice. I would say that the majority of us are solitary and we are a very diverse coven with many gifts and if you need anything you only have to post and I am sure one of us will try to answer.
If you are comfortable to share is there anything in particular that you practice. There is a lot of information in the forum and also the courses on Spells8 I found them useful and would recommend them.
Welcome to the forum! Thank you for taking the time to share your intro, it’s very nice to meet you
I’m Bry, an Eclectic Witch and one of the moderators. Just wanted to stop by and say hi! Please make yourself at home here. Wishing you all the best with your magickal studies
I practice a Celtic path. I try to stick mainly with the traditions my family passed down to me. I do however try to learn as much as I can and I always take advice from others who have been practicing as well. I’d also say I’m probably considered a hedge as well but all these neo pagan terms I’m not too informative on.like I said…my whole practice is based around my understanding through what has been passed down through the family.
That sounds like a wise, and more natural approach. There are a lot of titles and terminology out there these days - which can be helpful to many, but growing up with it like you have is better.
Sticking with your instincts doesn’t mean you aren’t willing and able to learn more. Just means you have a unique foundation - you’re very fortunate! I hope you enjoy your time here.
Thank you for sharing. Everyone is different and I have found that we can be a combination. It is wonderful that your practice is based on things passed through your family which is beautiful in itself.. There is no need to label yourself with a type.
