I am so happy to have found this community. I have been a practicing medium for many years and am honing my skills in other areas now that seem strangely familiar to me (perhaps from another lifetime). All I can say is that everything I am learning on Spells8 is like an echo from the past. I don’t have a local community to talk or any mentors, so my spiritual journey has been one of isolation. I would love to find some other witchy friends near me, so we can grab coffee/tea, exchange ideas, and be in each other’s energy. Things I’m interested in include parapsychology, telekinesis, karttikeyan yoga, spell casting, and maybe tarot (but I’m super intimidated because there are so many cards to learn)!
Greetings from Canton, North Carolina. I also practice alone. Always in private. But that’s okay. I’m a private person. It is hard to share what has appeared in front of your very eyes to folks that start to look at you with an eye roll. At least here you can share, get advive and learn new stuff.
Hello and welcome @QuietDoe I’m Amanda from Oklahoma We’re so excited you have joined us
Oh, I hear you! I am studying belief systems and I sample a little of everything. So, I started learning the cards. I’m getting better. It just takes time - but it is a fun journey. There are lots of articles about Tarot and several practioners with lots of background. Take the Tarot course if you want. It is pretty thorough.
Welcome! As you said, there is a lot here so dip into things and enjoy the trip. Everyone here is amazing and helpful - and the combined expertise allows asking just about any question and getting great answers.
Merry meet @Hopecouture36 and welcome!
My name is Kat, and I’ve been practicing the craft for over 30 years. My practice is rooted in a blend of nature magick, green magick, and elements of hedgecraft. I work closely with the natural world, drawing inspiration from plant spirits, animal spirits, and liminal spaces. My interests include herbalism, gardening, and divinatory practices like tarot, throwing bones, and Lenormand.
There is a wonderful search function that will help you dig for more information in the forums!
We’re glad to have you here. Make yourself comfortable, explore, and feel free to ask questions!
Hi, @QuietDoe! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
I’m glad you found us! I get wanting that connection. I tried for a while to find pagans in my area and the only ones I found didn’t really talk to me when I opened up, they were too busy talking among themselves. So. Here I am and I love it here!
I have no idea about telekinesis, other than comic books and the Tomorrow People back in the 70s’ and 80’s. LOL! But one of our members does lots of yoga, and there’s a tarot course you can start on to see if you’ll like it.
If you do, then you can get books and study more. I’ve been learning for a few years but I’m not into spread but mostly doing one card pulls. Then again, I don’t have a table big enough for a Celtic Cross spread so when I do a spread I tend to stay with a three or five card one.
But just take a chance on it. Tarot may end up being one of those things that are familiar and you’ll be good at it!
Looking forward to getting to know you!
Welcome @QuietDoe!
This is a great community to explore! Fell free to join in any conversation which interests you!
Hi @QuietDoe!
I’m Ailey - I live an hour from you! How exciting to have someone so “close”… but in Georgia it takes an hour to get to anything, doesn’t it? You are going to love Spells8 - there is so much to learn and so many patient people who will help you get where you are trying to be! Enjoy every moment!
Welcome @QuietDoe ! It’s great to have you with us! I’m from Minnesota and have been practicing many different aspects of the craft for 35+ years. I currently work with voodoo, chaos magick and divination. I hope to soon be studying and working with necromancy.
This is a great place to learn and grow. If you ever have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. There is always someone in the coven who is able to guide you.
Blessings
Hi there @QuietDoe . I’m from Illinois. This place is so awesome and I’m so glad you found it. There’s so much to learn in the Spells8 courses. I get how intimidating tarot is at first, but it’s well worth sticking with it. I started two years ago and I admit, it’s a steep learning curve, but once you master it, it’s so worth it in my humble opinion. I would start with a daily 1 or 3 card pull when learning. Keep a journal of the meanings and understand that it takes awhile to develop intuition with tarot practice for most people. It’s an interesting journey though. Welcome to the coven!
That would be me. Single pulls and three card spreads are where I am. I have done bigger spreads such as deck interview spreads. With the bigger spreads I have to take notes and then look at the bigger picture so it takes a while.
You could check out the book Card of the Day Tarot: Quick and Easy One-Card Tarot Readings For Love, Work, and Everyday Life. It’s a great book with great meanings for the cards. I use it almost every day.
I got it as a belated Christmas present!
Great! I hope you like it!
