Halloween Popcorn
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
3 cups salted popcorn
1/2 cup candy corn
1/2 cup peanut M&Ms
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
Sprinkles, for decorating
Directions:
Add popcorn, candy corn, M&Ms, and marshmallows to a large bowl.
Fill a medium pan with about an inch of water, then bring to a simmer. Once simmering, turn the heat all the way down to low.
Add chocolate to a heatproof bowl larger than your pan, then place over the water (the bowl should not be touching the water - the steam will melt the chocolate). Stir with a rubber spatula or until completely melted.
Drizzle half the chocolate onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Add half of the popcorn, candy corn, M&Ms, marshmallows, and sprinkles in a single layer, gently pressing into the chocolate.
Drizzle the remaining chocolate on top, then add the remaining popcorn, candy corn, M&Ms, marshmallows, and sprinkles.
Alternatively, you can add all of the ingredients to a large bowl, pour the chocolate over top, then stir quickly to coat.
Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes. Break it into bite-sized pieces, then serve.
Notes:
How To Store Halloween Popcorn:
Popcorn is best eaten the same day it’s made, but you can store it at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days. You can refrigerate it if the chocolate starts to melt, but the popcorn may lose its freshness faster.
Don’t want to use peanuts?
Use regular M&Ms, then add 1/2 cup chopped pretzels to replace the saltiness.
