I found this awesome tarot spread and thought I’d share here for those of you who are connected to Hecate. I really liked this one and found it very insightful. Enjoy!
Backyard Banshee has nice examples. I did her deck interview and it worked great for me.
I am not following Hecate but, like Brigit, she keeps coming up in posts (like this one) and even while watching TV. In one TV event, a dad caught his daughter and her friend half naked and with a bong and demanded to know what they were doing. The daughter quickly said ‘Practicing Wicca. We’re calling Hecate’. The dad said ‘OK’. and left. It was out of the blue and pretty funny.
Oh interesting. Hecate has been calling to me for a long time, but I didn’t realize it until recently. It’s so interesting to me how this journey keeps unfolding in unexpected ways. I’m glad the new deck interview spread was helpful for you. I’m going to try that next time I get a new one.
And now I’m curious, what deck did you get?
Actually, it was two decks.
Tarot of Oppositions - Got hugs and kisses from the spread - It loves me! It is Rider Waite with two pictures on each card. Generally, one picture is normal Rider Waite and the other is a bit darker. Like getting a reversed card. but with more to think about. It probably isn’t for working with a client (I wouldn’t know though… I usually use the decks for me). The reversed image is thought provoking and makes you want to think about it more. @BryWisteria did a review of it back a couple of years. I got it for when I do single draws and have time to think a bit. I’ll load a picture.
Wandering Spirit - not Rider-Waite. I had a bad feeling about it so it was the first I did the interview with. The interview asks six questions. I got the III of Swords, 8 of Swords, The Devil (and three others). No matter what order you put those cards in the spread, it fails the interview! No picture, the deck is buried in my boneyard of decks. The ‘Wandering Soul’ part is interpreted as needing an evil looking skeleton in every. single. picture.
Wow wow wow. That first one looks AMAZING. Definitely adding that to my wishlist. Going to read @BryWisteria’s review. Thank you for sharing. And glad you did the interview before using the second deck. Seems like bad energy. Also, I’m curious, did you cleanse it first?
Short answer is yes. My cleansing ritual is a little bizarre (I think) but it has worked so far. For a new deck, meditation, lots of shuffling and cutting (I have to feel it before I stop), setting an intent, more shuffling and cutting and then the draw.
Yay! I’m happy if the review was helpful - may your new Oppositions deck serve you well, Dan!
You’re very kind for thinking of the coven, @SerenFox - thanks for sharing the Hecate tarot spread!
Coincidentally, I bought a book about the worship to Hecate and now this spread.
I think she is calling me
Which book did you get?
I bought a translate-to-spanish book of Courtney Weber, about Hecate. I like the book so fr, but I can´t talk about it until I finish!
Oh! I would be interested. I am mid-level in conversation but a bit higher in reading. I like good stories in Spanish…
Ahh! I looked it up and it hasn’t been published as yet. I see why you have to be mum. When you can, let us know what you think
Bendito Sea
It’s not published there yet?
I bought it two weeks ago, and I like because gives a lot of information about Hecate, her history, how to make a ritual, offerings, and a whole grimoire dedicated to Her…
