From what I’ve read there is a lot in common. The Irish frequently invaded Wales and the noble families married into each other. Both are Celtic and fiercely independent of the Roman invasion.
I would appreciate any links you can share. I’m totally fascinated and rather proud to be a descendant of such independent people.
My mum is in her late 70s and I’ve been talking to her, she actually does know a lot about her Welsh heritage. She never spoke about it, maybe she took for granted that I knew and didn’t realise it was something I wanted to know.
It does make me more conscious now about ensuring I explicitly pass on my knowledge to my own children.
