Hello (Australian exploring identity)

Merry meet! You have come to the right place and it seems you came across Spells8 for a reason  My name is Tanya (Khadija now my legal name) and i also live in Australia too, well Sydney to be exact.

I feel like i can connect with you on the ‘finding your identity’ as the very least since me being born into a white Christian family, turning to Islam at the age of 15 and 4 years ago i also found my Wiccan path (as the name describes). I hope being here gives you answers to any questions you have, and also feel free to reach out as there are heaps of wonderful magickal individuals here who are happy to help or even just to chat

Can I offer you a suggestion to ease conversation with multiple people at once? If you type the @ sign, a list of people comes up so you don’t have to type their whole name. Type the first letter or two if they don’t appear in the initial list. Then you don’t have to respond to each person in a separate post and wait between posts. Just add another person onto the same post. If the reply frame doesn’t let you see the other previous posts, there is a double down arrow at the top of your reply page, which reveals the posts and puts your reply in a blue bar across the bottom of the page.

Another easy hack is to highlight a phrase you want to answer. A bar comes up which allows you to quote or copy. The quote is automatically added to your reply, whereas copy puts it in your clipboard so you can paste it later.

Either way, the persons quoted or mentioned with an at sign will be emailed your message, just like they are when you hit the reply arrow within their post.

I hope this helps! Have a great day!

@georgia thank you for the tips. I will practice. @leo Thankyou for the welcome

Such a huge site to explore and learn from.

I am a maker. I’ve always been one. Give me sticks and yarn and I will transform them into a sweater.
Give me a stick a weight and raw fibre I will make yarn.

I’ve always seen my making as a transformation practice something that links me to my ancestors and those that come after me.
But until recently this is not something I would disclose to others. I’m not comfortable with what I myself would deem WooWoo.

At present I am focusing on using plants to create patterns and colour on fabrics.

Like @MeganB described herself in her mod intro, am one who Is flittering from flame :fire: to flame as my interest is caught.

Your fabrics are beautiful! So unique looking. I love the white one with the leaves and flowers - it must be so soft.

I’m the person who would touch and stroke your work and get her grubby paws all over it. :joy:

Never apologize for your creativity! If other people don’t understand what you do, screw 'em.  :feather:

These are your superpowers! You don’t have to talk about them, but please do continue doing them. Your experiments are valuable and beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Onions and ragweed flowers are supposed to make a beautiful yellow. If you have red sumac berries, they come out a dark red, but turn woad blue (colonial blue from the Civil War era) when you wash the fabric. Yeah, I’ve studied these too. It was fun.

Those are amazing! Do the herbs and flowers dye the fabric or do you add something else? I would love to learn how to do that. It reminds me of the good ol’ hippy days when we did tie dye and batik work.

Thanks for sharing.

Hello and welcome! How exciting to trace your ancestry. I have Scottish blood, through my grandmother, although I was born in the UK and now live in Texas!

Have fun exploring your path.
