I am learning everything I can right now. I joined in Nov. and have read and learned a lot on this site. Mostly through the emails without logging in so it doesn’t show up. I have been a nurse for 36 years. My parents moved here from Germany in 1955, 2 years before I was born, and didn’t know English. I have visited a few times. I am drawn to the “Old country” and ancient ways. When I look back at things that I, and my parents, have done and been attracted to I can see that it was always there but buried. I am interested in everything at this point but my goal this year is to start a small herb garden. My mom had a green thumb. My grandparents had the local greenhouse in their village. My paternal grandparents were the village bakers but I am not a baker or cook! Eventually I will find my “thing” but until then I am enjoying everything witchy.
You make me smile when you say this! I am so happy for you, real happy you are here and learning so much. Wishing you all the best on your journey.
That’s wonderful! I wish I had a green thumb naturally. How nice it is to have that connection with the life around you from the earth I’m sure you’ll find your “thing” or things!
A very warm welcome to you, @linda6!
I think it is wonderful that you are honoring your roots and heritage as you dig into magick- and Green Magick is such a lovely aspect to learn about!
If you haven’t already found it- I highly recommend the Green Witch: Herbal Witchcraft course. Even as someone who grew up surrounded by herbs and gardening magick (although my mother never actually used the word!), I’ve found the courses open new doors and offer helpful spellwork suggestions
All of the Spells8 courses are free to access- just make sure you are logged into your account!
Feel free to get involved with the many Forum Activities- we would love to have you join us! It is a pleasure to meet you
Blessed be!
Merry Meet @linda6! I’m Kasie from West Virginia. I hope this site helps you find your niche. I’d poke around the forum as well, there’s been lots of great information posted here! I hope to talk to you more soon!
Welcome to Spells8. There’s lots of witchy activity in the Columbus area. You should have no difficulty finding other witches there.
Merry Meet, Linda. The emails
have been amazing resources of information, haven’t they? I am thankful for them, too.
@BryWisteria already shared some good resources to get started and there are wonderful people on here into Green Witchery. I hope you can start your herb garden this year.
The online coven is so warm and welcoming and I love learning from everyone on here. No rush in finding your thing. Sometimes it finds you.
Blessed Be!
The best part is that I am living in the house I grew up in, with a nice backyard and a private screened in brick patio which was a lovely place for an alter last summer. I can’t wait to move it back out there when it warms up.
That would be awesome but I wouldn’t know where to begin to look. I’m only about 45 min. away. I used to drive to Columbus to work when I was a Hospice nurse.
Welcome @Linda6 Lovely to meet you. I am a fellow Buckeye… I live in Akron. You are right - this is a great site and I am glad you feel comfortable to join in on the Forum. Lots of great people here with generous hearts and depth of wisdom. Excited that you like to Garden. I am hoping that we have another mild winter that will allow us to get out into the garden early again this year. Last year was wonderful, but hey its Ohio and the weather is never a sure thing. Blessed be Linda!
Welcome, Linda! It’s great to have you in the Forum!
Well said! Like Brianna mentioned, don’t forget to explore the Activities category where we usually give a try to different aspects of the Craft by experimenting and sharing our findings!
Merry Meet @linda6 ! I am glad that you’re here. I could only be so jealous!
Lets just say that I don’t have the natural skills to tend plants.
Enjoy and welcome!
