Hello from Delaware

I’m just getting started in my seeking journey, but I’ve always felt a strong connection to Wicca in general. I was raised in an extremely religious (Pentecostal) household, so I haven’t gotten as far to share this part of my life with my parents yet, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel comfortable doing that. But for now, I will enjoy being on this journey for myself!

Merry meet!

I’m Kat and am currently located in North Carolina. I found the practice over 20 years ago but lost my way for a while. I found my way home a couple of years ago and shortly thereafter found this amazing group of people!! I am a fairly eclectic Green witch with a deep interest in tarot, runes, herbalism, and moon magic. My deities are Artemis (she’s been with me since the beginning) and Hekate, a recent guide in my life.

Take your time sharing your journey with your family and remember you don’t have to if you don’t want to as well. :purple_heart: Your journey, your choice.

We’re glad to have you here. :purple_heart: Make yourself comfortable, explore, and feel free to ask questions!

Welcome to the frum @rowyn7

My name is Megan and I’m one of the moderators here at Spells8 :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: It’s nice to meet you!

There’s never any rush or pressure to share your spiritual or religious path with anyone if you don’t want to. I can understand why some people may feel more comfortable (and safe!) keeping their beliefs to themselves. It’s the same here with the coven  feel free to share as much or as little as you’d like - many of us are solitary practitioners as well, so we can be solitary together! :hugs: Please, feel free to make yourself at home!

Hi, @rowyn7! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! :infinite_roots:

You’ll come out to your family when the time is right, and if it never feels right that’s okay too! It’s all up to you. I got lucky, my Mom supported me. Not everyone is lucky like that.

If you have any questions about anything, ask, and someone will pop up to help you. I look forward to getting to know you!

I’m glad that it worked out for you. I just have a feeling that my parents wouldn’t be as open-minded. They’re good people, just still very stuck in the same religious cycle that they raised me in. Thank you for your words of encouragement, though!

Welcome, I too was heavily involved in the pentecostal church throughout my youth during the 60s and 70s in the UK. I still feel the fear and guilt forced into me at times when practicing, like I’m doing something wrong or evil. But I’ve been a Hindu now for ten years, and have recently found the craft fits together with that very well. I’ve never been happier, so that reassures me I’m on the path that is right for me. I follow the logic now that if a person’s belief system requires me to believe in their God or be dammed, then there is something wrong with it, and if they don’t like it, we’ll it’s their problem. We are all free here to follow our hearts. So again, welcome :pray::pray:

I can understand not saying anything to them then. No need to rock the boat.

Hello @rowyn7,

Welcome! I’m Bry, one of the moderators here in the forum and an Eclectic Witch. It’s a pleasure to meet you

That’s absolutely fine- your path is your own, and there is no need to share with others before you feel ready to do so (or at all, if you don’t wish to!).

This space for all magick-lovers and practitioners to be themselves and enjoy sharing about their magickal studies- those both in and out of the broom closet in their lives are welcome here. The Coven community is a very supportive and friendly one, so please make yourself at home!

Blessed be, Alexandria :sparkles:

Wow, that resonated so much with me. I had looked a lot into Hindu before I found the craft, but I was under the impression that I needed to choose. I think I might start looking more into it again, and who knows, I might decide that, like you, a mix of both works for me. Thank you
