Hello from Shannon in Southwest Virginia

:waving_hand: Hello everyone! I have always believed and had a pull to the craft. Then when I passed the fifth time, the deceased started coming to me in voice and physical form. Most have been friendly, but I also know that the door is open now and that I need to protect myself. They sometimes come to speak to me in dreams and also come to me during the day if I happen to be where they are choosing to stay. I knew some, but I also know that the more I know that the better off I will be. I am a person with a good heart and only want to do good. I have had enough bad with illness and bad relatives. They bring on their own bad. I have nothing to do with them. I only want to help those around me. Life is always more than you can see. Nature has always been my best friend.

Blessed all,

Shannon

Thankful Thursday Shannon,

I’m getting a Ghost Whisperer vibe. Maybe you have the gift of sight with the deceased. Welcome to our group and have a hearty and long look around. Lady Gene :phoenix:

Hi, @shannon3! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! :infinite_roots:

I’m trying to figure out how far away we are. Southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia gets confused all the time with people for me. I’m up here in Fayette County, WV. Hi, neighbor!

I don’t have much advice on protection for you. I am mostly what I call head blind. I don’t pick up much, sadly. But there are several books on Amazon for Psychic Protection that might help you, and I’m sure someone here can give you some tips!

Anyhow, it’s nice to meet you! I hope to get to know you better!

Just reminded me Psychic Witch by Mat Auryn. Very nice book, it’s fairly new

That’s right! It wasn’t for me because things like meditation and visualization gives me problems, but it’s a good book otherwise!

I will Feathertip. Thank you for the warm welcome.

My papaw knew when I was young that I had a talent to speak with our critters. I was able to calm them when he needed it. I was his shadow. Nature and animals were my family growing up and still are. I plan to study and learn more. All the while I will keep Nature close to my heart and my animals next to me.

I wasn’t able to see or hear them until I passed the fifth time. I don’t think death’s door shut when I came back that time. But when I was a kid on the home property, there was a small cemetery on the river. I used to talk to the teenage girl that was buried there back in the 1800’s. I always felt close to her and never understood why. I didn’t ever hear from her then but I never felt alone when speaking with her. This is why I believe that things happen for a reason. I may have already had the gift, but I needed events to happen for it to come forth. Life is funny that way, but after deep thought, it all makes sense.

Thankfully Thursday Shannon,

I love visiting graveyards, always have. I have ā€œseenā€ and come across many spirits. I have one who follows me, a prankster, whom I have named Steven. He’s been with me since I was about 14 or so. (I’m now 61, so quite a while) Have fun!!! Lady Gene :phoenix:

Amethyst,

I probably am not that far from you. I am in Wise, VA. I grew up near the tip of VA in Jonesville. I know that there is a way towards W. VA by way of Grundy if I am thinking right.

Protection will come to me the more I study and read. I have already set up 4 vials with protective stones and herbs in the 4 corners of the home. I did this a year ago. Emotions, bad events, and trouble seemed to calm down. I just want to know more for myself and for friends that live in homes that have bothersome spirits, neighbors, and seem to have repetitive bad emotions that seem to arise since moving to a location. I am always out to help those that need it and if I can, I will. I have had the odd ability to see where the trouble really lies when they cannot. I’m a helper.

I can go to graveyards. I enjoy going to them. I found out that where I live now wasn’t a cemetery, but it was farmland, then a landfill, then it became this mobile home park. My Amish ā€˜protector’ died on the land when it was farmland. I bet you have some interesting stories to tell about Steven.

Greetings from New Mexico!

Welcome @shannon3!

Protection is a good thing. Glad you have friends in the veil, though. That means you’re never alone.

Nope, that’s not far at all! Nice to meet you!

I keep a bowl of salt with black tourmaline in it in my living room. On the Full Moons, I change the salt and recharge the stones.

I have no idea about how you can learn to be Medium, but that would be awesome of you, if difficult for you too. Good luck with that! It’s an honorable, but tough path to walk!

Merry Meet, Shannon. :crescent_moon::sparkles:

Thank you for sharing this so openly, it sounds like you’ve lived through experiences that felt very intense and real to you, and it makes sense that you’d want understanding, protection, and knowledge around them. The wish to do good, help others, and stay connected to nature comes through very clearly in what you wrote.

I’m Stephanie or Eira of the Living Hearth, an eclectic witch from California, and I’m glad you’re here. Many people who feel sensitive or spiritually open also recognize the importance of grounding and protection, especially if they experience vivid dreams, presences, or impressions. Learning ways to center yourself, set boundaries, and feel safe in your own energy is a healthy and empowering direction.

If you’re open to it, I gently suggest keeping both spiritual and personal wellbeing in balance.

Welcome to the coven! I’m glad you’re here.

Blessed Be. :herb: :dizzy:
