Hello from Willamette Valley

Hi,
My name is Leo. A new member. Just wanted to say “Hi”. I live outside of Portland, 20 miles Southwest as the Crow flies. I’m recently retired and have time to do the things I’ve always wanted. So hope to make some new friends with like minds.
Thanks,
Leo

Welcome, @leo and Merry Meet! I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. Delighted that you have joined us!

Happy retirement! Now is when you discover how busy being retired can be. Do you have a regular practice at this time? I’ve been practicing for less than a year, but I have been a pagan, grounded in nature and my connection with animals, all my life.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions about anything around here while you’re settling in. We’re a friendly group - jump in to any discussion that interests you.

Enjoy your journey! :sparkles: :feather:

Hi! That is also I.

Welcome to Spells8. Settle in and enjoy the coven! There are lots of neat people here and everyone is very accepting.

I’m Dan and I study belief systems. I fall loosely under the Chaos umbrella. Currently I’m studying cards, runes, Celtic and Norse pantheons.

Enjoy!

Hi Dan,

Nice to meet you.

I’m just starting to get into the craft. Been celebrating the season for a long time and studying books on the subject and Celtic magic for a while. Never really tried to do spells or got in any deeper than casual stuff. So a new road for me. Haven’t decided who or where I fit in yet, kind of eclectic maybe? Anyway, thanks for the welcome.

Leo.

Spell work can take many forms. I shoot for personal satisfaction that I’ve done the right thing. In that sense, it is like prayer. I meditate, do mind palaces, and try to send comfort and good vibes. For me, and for most, it is intention that is key.

There are many readings about it. I am in to meditation (have been for years) and I use that as a way to solidify my intention. You may be different but I recommend getting a book or two and just reading about it. Your path may develop from that - in any case, your awareness will help you.

If you would like a simple book that goes over the basics and is not overly esoteric, you might try Pagan Portals - Spellcraft and Spellwork by Ariana Carrasca. There are many others but I liked that one.

Congratulations :tada: and Welcome!

My name is Kat, and I started practicing the craft in 1993. I practice nature magick with a bioregional focus, working closely with the natural world and drawing inspiration from plant and animal spirits. I’m drawn to herbalism, gardening, and various forms of divination - tarot, throwing bones, kipper and ogham.

We’re glad to have you here. :purple_heart: Make yourself comfortable, explore, and feel free to ask questions!:
