I wandered in to look around, decided to take the beginners course as a refresher, I found parts of enlightening, it was great! My mother was a rock hound so I grew up digging up crystals, stones and rocks of many types. Digging in dry river and creek beds and caves, I loved it. She taught me all about the stones and crystals and the power they hold. Plus my mom taught me how to read the weather by watching nature, what you can eat and what is poisonous, to respect the flora and fauna, to always give back. If only she knew what Wicca is!! In a sense I grew up Wiccan. I am 100% European, mostly Celtic (Scottish and Irish) with a touch of Welch and Briton. I became really interested in Wicca when I started digging into my ancestry, the Pagan Gauls are my ancestors. Something funny, my fiance called me his little Banshee! I am a Taurean through and through! Lol! Plus the Irish and Scottish temper mixed in, uh oh!
Hello and welcome. I’m Tracy from England. I follow the Norse magical practice. Make yourself at home Lovely
Hello @LittleBanshee,
Welcome! I’m Bry, one of the moderators and an Eclectic Witch. Thanks for sharing your introduction - it sounds like your mother was a wonderful teacher and that you grew up in harmony with nature around you. That’s so nice!
I just wanted to stop by and say welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed the beginner’s course - I hope you continue to find resources and materials that help you on your path. Make yourself at home here!

Hi, @LittleBanshee! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia over here in the States. Welcome to the forum!
Wow, your Mom sounds awesome! My Dad helped me collect rocks and crystals, buying them for me, but I never went rock hunting, especially in caves! What a wonderful memory to have with your Mom that you can treasure forever!
I’m glad you’ve joined us! I’m sure there’s lots of good information we can share. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!
Welcome @LittleBanshee ! It’s great to have you with us. I’m from Minnesota and have been practicing many different aspects of the craft for 35+ years. I currently work with voodoo and divination and am studying Enochian Magick.
Sounds like your mom was a wonderful teacher of nature! Great jump start into your practice!
Make yourself at home here. If you ever have questions don’t hesitate to ask. Someone in here will be able to guide you.

Hello darlene4
Welcome to Spells8. We are a group (and growing larger) of like minded people who
Blessedly wandered onto this site. Most have stayed, if only for the forum.
This is a section where we gather to discuss a multitude of subjects. Cooking, plants, rocks, spells and natural medicine, to start with. There is so much more with us.
Stay a while, get a cup of coffee or tea. Put your feet up and learn from and with us.
“New friends are a gift to be treasured.”
Many Blessings

Welcome @LittleBanshee!
My mother was a traveler and explorer. I took hold of anything I could, wherever it came from, simply because we started so early in my life. Much of what I learned came from the Native Americans we met along the way, but my upbringing was also rock hounding, weather reading, wild edibles, ad learning from the local creatures.
It seems I’m still gathering everything possible from anywhere I can find wisdom. Wisdom exists everywhere!
Feel free to join in any conversation which interests you.
I am already a third degree Wicca, but i have been away for awhile hence, the refresher courses. My sister is eager to learn and a friend wants to learn, but I do not want to be in a coven. Especially lead one, even a small one, I love being a solitary witch.
Hi Amethyst! Im sure there is lots we can talk about and share. Living here in Oregon I go crystal and rock hunting when I can, there is nothing like finding your own crystals. You know there is quartz where you are of all colors!
There is a lot of freedom being a solitary witch! I’m the same way in that an in-person coven isn’t the best match. I’ve found that having an online coven community is my happy middle ground - it’s all the freedom of having a individual practice while still being able to share spells, support one another, and enjoy the presence of fellow magick-lovers. I hope you find this space comfortable for you, too!
Much love and many blessings
maybe, but I’ve never found anything but mostly slate and bits of coal when I was a kid, and there aren’t any caves around here to go looking. At least none that I know of. Besides, sadly I am disabled now. I don’t think rollators drive well in caves, even though my basket would hold quite a few rocks! LOL!
Merry meet @LittleBanshee and welcome!
My name is Kat, and my practice is rooted in a blend of nature magick, green magick, and elements of hedgecraft. My interests include herbalism, gardening, and divinatory practices like tarot, throwing bones, and Lenormand.
There is a wonderful search function that will help you dig for more information in the forums!
We’re glad to have you here. Make yourself comfortable, explore, and feel free to ask questions!
I am disabled too, but I can walk and move around, just not like I used to be able to. It doesn’t stop me from going hunting, a few years ago I found a raw diamond at the river! I was so excited to add it to my collection. I find all kinds of stones at the river, I live on the South Umpqua, in the middle of the ring of fire.
That sounds like it would be a great area for crystals! And a raw diamond! Very cool!
Unfortunately the closes I ever got was a roadside attraction where you could sift through sand and find planted crystals. I still liked it because, you know, crystals, but it’s not the same.
Welcome and Merry Meet, @LittleBanshee! I’m Feathertip, very new to all of this but taking the courses and reading a lot at home.
Happy that you’re here!
Keep studying and doing your lessons, but don’t forget to step out into nature and just listen, listen to the wind going through the trees, the bugs buzzing around. Take a jpurnal and write down what you feel and hear. What are the sounds telling you? You will be strong in no time! Blessed be
Thank you so much, my ancestors are the Pagan Gauls, been looking into that and of course my celtic roots. I did the DNA and found this out. I come from a long line of Pagans and Witches.
What a wonderful attitude!
I’m Dan and I’m into belief systems and place myself loosely under the Chaos umbrella.
You have a wonderful set of experiences. There are lots of articles here that will help you on your path and I’m sure you can relate some great experiences, too. Dig in and enjoy Spells8!
Why thank you so much! I try to keep a positive attitude although, somtimes it don’t work so well. When that happens, I just crawl to my corner and play with my rocks. Lol!
Yeah, my mom and dad shared a lot of things with me growing up, some of it stuck. My love for photography and coming into Wicca due to some of my upbringing. I think I’ve seen every mission in the state of California too, yeesh!
@LittleBanshee Welcome to the family of wizards and witches
I am Airam from Greece and I wish you beautiful magical journeys
