Hot Buttered Apple Cider with Rum
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Refrigeration: 4 hours
Servings: 20
Ingredients:
Buttered Mix:
2 cups brown sugar
1 3/4 cups butter, softened
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. all spice
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. honey
2 tsp. vanilla
Additional items:
Apple cider
1 - 2 Tbsp. Spiced rum or dark rum
2 Tbsp. Buttered mix
Apple, cinnamon stick, and oranges for a garnish
Directions:
Cream together the ingredients for the buttered mix.
Refrigerate this mix for at least 4 hours. You can also make this one or two days in advance.
When ready to serve, add the buttered mix to a heat-safe glass.
Add the spiced rum.
Fill to the top with hot apple cider.
Garnish and serve.
Notes:
Tips for making Hot Buttered Apple Cider with rum:
If you want to make this without alcohol, just leave the rum out.
Make the buttered mix at least 4 hours in advance. You can also make it one to two days ahead of time.
You can make this drink non-alcoholic by leaving out the rum. It still tastes wonderful for those who can’t partake in alcoholic beverages.
You can’t make this by the pitcher. Make the drinks the day of and one at a time to keep everything in the glass cohesive. As long as you have the apple cider hot, it won’t be hard.
