How I got here

I guess I’ll jump right in by telling you a bit about how I got here.
I’ve always had gifts. I remember playing with little people who were about 1 1/2’ tall and wore red and blue clothes when I was about 3 years old. Of course my grown-ups thought I was pretending. I’ve always had premonitions in the form of dreams and daydreams. My mother and sister also have them so I never thought much about it. As I got older I realized that I can change how a person treats me by imagining replacement behavior. Sometimes when I think of something, it happens. I still don’t know if I caused it to happen or if I was made aware that it was going to happen. There are other things too, but I don’t want to write everything here.
So here I am in the crone stage of life and I’ve decided that it’s time to organize and harness my powers. I’ve identified as a witch most of my life, but only in the past few years have I allowed a few others to know that about me. I live in a very conservative area and I don’t feel comfortable coming out of the broom closet just yet.
I’m happy I found a place where I can learn, share and discuss what it is to be a witch :broom::magic_wand:

Hi Dan! I love Tarot! I also enjoy learning about different belief systems. It opens my eyes to all the possibilities. Sometimes it feels lonely not belonging to a coven because there’s not anyone to talk to about your craft. This feels like a really good place for me. :purple_heart::sparkles:

Thank you for such a warm welcome. I’m still learning the forum. There’s so much information here. I’m trying to be an active participant but I’m a little bit nervous about doing something incorrectly. Everyone is so kind so hopefully if I make a mistake I won’t make anyone too upset

Hi, @cherietta! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! :infinite_roots:

We’re glad you found us! I get having to live in the broom closet. I’m only halfway out. Two people know for sure, but I bet my building manager knows because there’s all sorts of pagan decor in my apartment. I’m sort of operation on a Don’t Ask Don’t Tell thing. LOL!

So think of this as a place to take your pointed hat and witchy shoes off and make yourself comfortable! I’m looking forward to getting to know you!

Thank you for sharing that with me! You’ve described my exact situation. :purple_heart::sparkles:

You’re welcome! I kind of had to come out of the broom closet when I got a worker to help me around the house. I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t scare whoever came to work with me.

I got lucky and got Sally. She just dusts my Goddess statures and goes on! She accepts me and all my weirdness. So sometimes taking the chance is worth it!

No worries at all  We all make mistakes, in fact I think mistakes are one of the many teachers on the path - they help us learn and grow! :seedling:

I love the example Amethyst shared about taking off the pointy hat and settling in. I’ll second that - make yourself right at home, Cherietta!

Blessed be :sparkles:

I just joined the April Tarot challenge (here ), I had to work up a bit of nerve but it is fun. if you wish go on over and take a look. It is not a real challenge in the sense of a test, it is a way to explore your cards while in a group of others doing the same.

I did day 1 and 2, but haven’t done today yet. I’ll try to do 3 and 4 tomorrow morning. I’m at my best in the morning

I love looking at all the different decks and reading the interpretations of the cards. :joker:
