Hello, friends!
Throughout the forum, there are several places where regular members can edit posts and update lists. These are called Wiki Posts! The most common places in the forum where you will find these are the Book Club posts and the Energy Exchange Circle.
They can be difficult to edit if you have never done it before, but I will walk you through it in this short and sweet tutorial!
What Is A Wiki Post?
Wiki posts are special types of posts that multiple users can edit, allowing for collaborative editing and sharing within the forum. They are very useful for documentation, lists, and other content that the Mod Team thinks might help.
Recognizing A Wiki Post
Wiki posts have a unique icon and a different, more prominent edit button (for users who can edit them) to distinguish themselves from regular posts. The Mod Team is usually pretty good about putting a note in the Wiki Post letting everyone know that the post is editable. There is also a tutorial linked for easy access!
Editing A Wiki Post
Any user who has general access to the forum (and has a Trust Level 1) should be able to edit a wiki post. In order to do this, go to the wiki post and click the edit button in the lower right corner.
The composer will open, and then you will be able to edit all of the content of the post! However, the title, the category, and the tags will not be available for everyone to edit. When an edit is made, a notification is sent to the post creator telling them that the post was edited.
For best practices, we ask that you only edit your own information and leave the notes of others untouched.
