It started with a kitchen table. We didn’t have one and a neighbor gave us the one they were replacing.
We have have we have long since outgrown our space so rearranging is a common thing. This time however instead of just some shuffling, I came up with a brilliant way to move the bedroom around to make more usable space.
So now because of one small table, just about the entire house is being rearranged.
The actual kitchen table replaced the entryway type table that we were using as a mix of a sideboard, counter space, a place to put large mixing bowls, slow cooker and a variety of other stuff.
The entry table is now being used as an entertainment center. A very nice and very heavy wooden something that my parents bought as part of a collection when they bought bunk beds for my oldest boys that we were using as an entertainment center, shelf for my son’s puzzles, book shelf, family games, craft cabinet and for a few small bins of my son’s smaller toys is now in our room for my son’s clothes and a few bedroom things.
The wardrobe that was being used for my son’s clothes and a few other things is now in the kitchen tucked over by the dryer for kitchen things and the entire layout of the bedroom is moved around
Keep in mind that I’m not supposed to be doing anything but my leg exercises and one or two household things as long as they can be done sitting on what is now being called Mommy’s Wheels
Our older son was at his Mother’s when the table came in and went back on Thursday, knowing that we planned on doing the real heavy stuff over the weekend. This may be more time than he’s spent with her over like the past 5 years
All of the heavy stuff has been moved, now it’s just the displaced stuff and one very special vanity table that need dealing with
The bedroom layout really was a good idea, it opened up quite a bit of space
I know how that feels when I get the itch to rearrange one thing and everything else goes right along with it just take it easy though – don’t overdue it!
@CelestiaMoon@MeganB this one stopped me but I’m starting to regain some energy. You know that point of rearranging that the furniture is in place and a few things are put away but you ran out of energy so you’ll deal with it tomorrow? That’s where my ability stopped and that’s what it still looks like. I planned to plant roots in the bedroom today and do as much as I could but today’s project is measuring for new carpet this one wasn’t my idea
Awww, you’ve been testing your body and its limits and seems like you’ve found them… It’s good to leave some energy for that curve ball life always seems to throw, but when you do sometimes it throws two… oh well, what can you do Love you, and hope you get a chance to rest and regain that energy asap
I know that feeling all too well! It’s terrible because I just want to finish the projects when that happens but when my body is out of steam, I’m out of steam I hope you’re taking it easy, though! Learning your body’s limits is important, for sure.
Our amazing bodies have their own special way of telling us to honour them as they age. My head told me to do a cartwheel the other day, so I did, and fell flat on my face. I felt like a fool, my kids collapsed with laughter. And my ego took a bashing. But my spirit said, honour me as I age within you. My mother always says, “grow old gracefully and wisdom will follow”. I love your energy @nixi, you’re fabulous.
About a year ago I was playing with my youngest nephew, he was trying to master a summersault so I decided to show him how it’s done. I had absolutely no follow through and basically flopped straight down, not to mention we were part way down a hill. I messed up my shoulder so bad I could hardly breathe, luckily there was no lasting damage but my husband had to help me dress for a week
