Interesting Videos for October :witch_moon:

Good morning, all! I have some interesting videos for the month of October for you, mostly centered around Samhain.

The first one is Ginny Metheral yet again. I love her monthly almanac videos! October Witchcraft Almanac. She also has an entire Playlist for Halloween. I haven’t watched them all yet, but what I have is very interesting!

Then I have one by Jacob Toddson. Celebrating Samhain as Modern Pagans. I haven’t watched this one yet, but it looks good! I’m looking forward to getting into it soon.

I also have a video on The Monsters of Samhain. Fun times.

Then, just for fun, I have 100 Things You Didn’t Know About Halloween. Yes, they pronounce Samhain and Celts wrong, yes, they can’t spell Soul. It’s still a fun little video!

Enjoy! :witch_moon:

Look at these goodies to watch! :eyes: :sparkles:

I know I have some spooky clips saved, but for right now, the only thing that comes to mind is the annual Yokai Parade in Kyoto, Japan. It’s a yearly reeancatment of an old legend called the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. For the festival, people dress up in very creative costumes portraying cute, scary, and sometimes funny ghouls and creatures.

Here’s a clip of some costumes in the parade:

This is a great space to share seasonal videos - thanks for opening it up, @Amethyst! :jack_o_lantern:  Happy Halloween season~!

There are so many good witchy videos and folklore videos for October. The real history behind Frankenstein and the Headless Horseman, I have a two-and-a-half-hour one that I haven’t watched yet, since it’s so big, that’s on the history of zombies. Goblins and vampires and witches, oh my!

I love the looks of that parade! But man, their costumes are way scarier! Some of those would give a teen in a Freddy Krueger mask a fright!

All the spooks of the season, hooray! :jack_o_lantern: :ghost: :woman_zombie: :bat:

There definitely are some intimidating costumes in the parade! I guess for me I’m too impressed with the design and how they managed to sew/craft/build all the pieces of the costume to be scared by them haha. And they somehow manage to walk around town in crowds wearing such elaborate outfits! It’s terrifyingly amazing :joy: :+1:

That’s part of what’s scary! They’re able to move and act in a way that’s weird. Without falling over! It’s awe inspiring, because you know they have had to work all year on their costume and moving around in it. That’s dedication.
