June Lenormand - Happy Anniversary - 6/25 - 6/26

A heartfelt feeling, desire, or emotional truth (Heart) expressed through communication, writing, or a message (Letter) creates movement, progress, or forward momentum (Ship).

The answer feels gentle today when I asked what small habit of mine makes the biggest difference. The Heart tells me to start with what I’m actually feeling instead of what I should be feeling. Today, I feel tired instead of energetic as has been the case for while nowadays. The Letter shows me that putting those feelings into words matters, whether that’s through my journaling, talking with someone I trust, tracking what’s happening with my health, or simply being honest with myself. And the Ship tells me that this small act of expression will create movement.

I’ve been carrying so much lately. My daughter’s struggles with autism and adulthood, my fatigue and health concerns regarding OSA, my mental ups and downs etc. It’s easy to keep everything swirling around in my head but I’d rather have some peace for once. I feel like the cards are trying to remind me that even a few written words can create a shift. That’s why I’m loving the new Book of Mirrors in our virtual altars! It has really given me incentive to write. This habit will make the biggest difference as it easily gives my thoughts somewhere to land. I truly don’t have to solve everything at once. I just have to let them move a little bit each day.

This reading really pairs well with yesterday’s reading, I think.

Clover: luck, happiness, fate’s gift, opportunity, expectation

Tower: protection, permanence, institution, solitude, isolation, stability

Stork: changes, care, loyalty to principles, movement, transformation, seasonal shift

I like a general Narrative format here.

I can confidently welcome the short-lived summers of the North into my life, and all the gentle good vibes that come with it. I am through the worst of the Spring’s ups and downs, feeling trapped inside by the weather which kept me from interacting with my garden and outside friends. Tower is isolation and solitude, which I embrace during the cold months, but Stork is drawn today, representing the changes brought from seasonal shifts - in this case, welcoming me outdoors.

My indoor projects have completed and have moved outdoors: Clover is here to represent my expectations for a positive outcome.

Reflection: I am writing all this with an aching back, having had a very busy day in the kitchen yesterday. As usual, I push it a little one day, pay for it another. But this is a welcoming, open-feeling question and these are lovely cards. A quiet day is in store.

Fabulous Friday Feathertip,

Wow, what a good read.

Mine, on the other hand…I am needing some help fellow friends…

What should I say yes to this month? 24 Heart; 10 Scythe; 31 Sun

This looks ominous…you are supposed to “cut” what the scythe is facing.

So temperance is telling me today to say “yes” to cut (10 scythe) all joy (31 sun) from my marriage/life/love (heart)?

Any insight on this today will be more than welcomed!!

I would NOT accept that read for your day!!

I honestly have never come across this statement.

A “general Narrative” format, which I use quite often, lets you play around with the order of importance of your cards. A left-to-right Narrative has you start on the left and continue along, and of course the modifier/subject/modifier places emphasis on the center card, with the cards on either side supporting it or “modifying” the subject card’s meaning. Negative cards surrounded or near positive cards can be softened.

@dan3 might be able to shed more light on this. Confusing!

I often look to those expanded Keywords that he has posted here - they offer both positive and negative aspects of ALL the cards, whatever their basic polarity (positive/neutral/negative) is supposed to be.

Consider this positive look at the Scythe card (taken verbatim from this Keyword document):

"In a positive light, it can reflect liberation, swift resolution, and the courage to make bold choices. This card may point to breakthroughs, the removal of obstacles, or the clarity that comes from decisive change. When paired with empowering cards, the Scythe can signal a clean break from stagnation, a successful surgery, or the end of a toxic cycle."

Gives you a chance to read your cards a lot differently, right?

Your Scythe being in the center means it is surrounded by very positive cards, which can put the positive aspects of the Scythe card into play.

You can say Yes to what your heart is telling you, as the Sun card offers hope for happiness, light and positive energy - a reason to celebrate the end of a toxic cycle or a pending breakthrough.

Given those extra Keywords, you can probably come up with a better read than that.

Hope this helps!

@Feathertip is right about looking for the positive aspects of the Scythe - which she explained well.. Lenormand does not expect cutting of such positive cards as the Sun and Heart. Letting the Scythe card override all would make it an “instant kill” card - which isn’t the intent.

Even using the Scythe as a cut doesn’t mean it cuts the good cards. Trying: “A swift emotional cut leads to liberation, truth, and renewed strength. What is removed now restores power.” would work well no matter what the question (maybe ). This puts the Scythe as the subject - even with emphasis (Mod/Subj/Mod) it still works in a positive way while still cutting.

I can welcome a loyal, spiritually resonant connection—one that supports me through meaning (W), devotion (D), and purpose (C).

Not so Frightful Friday, Dan and Feathertip,

Thank-you Feathertip, it did not occur to me that way (similar to the death or tower card in tarot, does not necessarily mean anything bad)

That is kind of what I thought, in the modifier/theme/modifier since the scythe was in the middle. But, yes, as I said to Feathertip…never quite looked at it that way, and I should’ve…(bap me up-side the head ).

Thank-you for the clarification my Fantastic Focused Friends, Lady Gene :people_hugging: :witch_pentacle:

Going to need help with this one guys…

Day 5: What can I confidently say “yes” to this month?

A door stands open, inviting your forward step.

Dog — Loyalty, friendship, support, trust, devotion, companion.

Garden — Public space, social life, exposure, gathering, community, networking.

Cross — Burden, suffering, faith, destiny, hardship, spiritual test.

This is what popped into my head when I saw the cards (without considering the question)

I could say that a friend has introduced me to certain exposure in social gatherings that is causing some spiritual discomfort.

This would relate to my friend inviting me to garden club which, while I love it and it’s really interesting, there is the constant awareness that everyone else in the room is a Christian Conservative while I am … not.

But as to how that answers today’s question, I don’t see that at all.

Hmmm. I think you’re on the right track here. I’m looking at the Garden card.

From the Expanded Keywords document:

“On the more complex side, the Garden can suggest superficiality, social pressure, or the discomfort of
being exposed. It may indicate gossip, performative behavior, or the strain of maintaining appearances
in public settings
.”

From your draw, the Dog card might be pointing to your real devotion to gardening and, even deeper, how that ties in to your practice and love of Gaia, the Earth. You want to stay loyal to these principles.

The Garden card does include social settings (your Garden club) but there’s a fundamental disconnect between how you approach your garden and how the other members do. You might be sensing that “among them, but not one of them” feeling again like you did on the trip you took together.

The Cross may be suggesting that this is your personal cross to bear, so to speak, or how to confront an unexpected spiritual test.

So the question is What can you confidently say Yes to this month?

It may be just a matter of weighing your personal discomfort around this Christian group while on the surface, the discussions are about gardening. Do the pros (like-minded people about gardening) outweigh the cons (being left to feel your “otherness” when you’re around them).

If the pros outweigh the cons, you can say Yes to finding balance and still enjoy yourself there.

That’s all I have.

I think I have this insight because I lived very near where you are for 3 years, and I am very sensitive to this kind of discomfort!

@ Greenbriar Here’s my noodling - @Feathertip gave some great comments, too.

The Garden card is not specific to a Garden Club in the reading or about anything except what you think you can say ‘Yes’ to. Equating it to the Garden Club shouldn’t automatically be necessary. To answer the question, what social (or other Garden keyword) situation could you combine with the others to come out with the positive asked in the question?

Thoughts about the Garden Club seems logical for you but since that goes a slightly negative direction (your discomfort among people who aren’t on your path), it may be overriding your feelings. While that doesn’t answer the question like it was intended, it is fine to think about it (no rules say to ignore feelings/intuition).

If you wish to keep The Garden Club Would it help to just change the question? The questions aren’t sacrosanct - I change them frequently enough.

Ha! After droning on in a post about the “Yes” version of this (saying you could change it to a “No”, the questions did it for me. Sneaky, very sneaky)

Deck: Realistic Copilot. Images are AI

Say “No” to anything that slices into my peace, my space, or my sense of sovereignty..

Today is not for bureaucracy, obligations, or being “on call” for institutions or other people’s expectations. (Tower)

Anything that disrupts my home, comfort, or inner sanctuary. My private space is not up for negotiation today. (House)

Anything sudden, sharp, or demanding immediate action. If it arrives with urgency, drama, or a “you must decide now,” the answer is no. (Scythe)

Reflection: I’m in SUCH a mood to do this today. Storms last night were sparky and driving and we had some damage to the new siding (which wasn’t finished so it is easy to repair but darn!).

I think that is a short and great summary.

Lily (modifier): experience, maturity, wisdom, peace, honor, enduring calm

Tower (subject): protection, permanence, institutions, boundaries, solitude, isolation, stability

Fox (modifier): resourcefulness, cunning, manipulation, craftiness

I’m choosing the classic modifier/subject/modifier format here.

The Fox card is what is drawing my eye for this particular question. For me, it nearly always shows up to represent a couple of family members whose calls or texts can come with questionable motives.

I love seeing the Tower card here in the center position so it can strongly represent boundaries (as suggested within the question), as well as protection and stability.

What deserves a clean, decisive “no” from me today will be any outside interruptions or attempts to intrude on my hard-won serenity and peace (Lily). I’m on alert.

Reflection: Even it I don’t hear anything from the outside that attempts to disrupt me today, it’s nice to get this reminder that I simply do not have to allow it. Boundaries stay in place.

Off-topic:

That sucks! I hope the damage is minimal and doesn’t disrupt the project. We were part of the same storm system but we were lucky and the worst of it stayed South of us. We did get some needed rain, but nothing like you experienced!

Have to chuckle even if it may be inappropriate. Don’t we all have one or two of those?

It was - got lots of rain (a few places near got 3 inches in about two hours). Flash flooding but since the rivers and streams were low, it all drained quickly. Lightning interrupted power and made our pup jumped into the bathtub (her hiding place from loud noises). High winds threw branches into the new siding but we were on hold for parts so the slight damage can be fixed.

Nah, it’s not inappropriate. It’s actually nice to hear that other people DO, in fact, have a couple of those!

Thanks for the insights @Dan and @feathertip.

I just mentioned the garden club because it was the first thing that popped into my head. It could, of course, be about something completely different.

I’m going to let it simmer for now and see if something comes up later.

Totally get that. It’s something that happens to me. Sometimes I can get past it if it doesn’t match the question - not always.

I was smiling today because today’s question was almost the opposite of our question the day before - and I had the Scythe card and read it in a positive way. Lenormand can be a hoot.

Super Saturday Greenbriar,

Sometimes, it just pops in your head for a reason.

Another note, I just picked up “Housewive’s Tarot”-----so funny, 50’s type iconography
