Can you remember if there was an event that enabled you to see them/sense and feel their presence.?
I am concerned that you are needing to strengthen your boundaries. It sounds from your post that they are strangers. Are they asking you to help them in some way before they can pass on.
If there is anything I can do to help you to protect yourself please let me know I can do a candle spell or something from the UK as distance as you know has no boundaries. I must admit I would be uncomfortable. Please be careful as you have said there are nasty ones out there.
I was very young when I started having out of body experiences and I feel that these reoccurring events was my trigger to connecting to family who had already passed before I was born.
I can sense/feel something like the passing of my Mother-in-Law when the telephone rang out of the blue and my best friend’s Dad my fine gold chain which was my Mum’s fell from my neck and 5 minutes later my friend was at my door crying saying her Dad has died.
A lot of my experiences as you have commented are lovely, my connection to my Mum and Nana are very strong and special. The one thing in common now I am thinking and realised is that they all passed suddenly and within 12 hours and that they were all deeply unconscious. I speak to them all everyday just checking in.
Is it just people that you see or sense?
I lost my dog suddenly aged 4 to spinal cancer she was having tests which showed nothing sinister. My Husband took her to have an MRI scan I was looking after my other dog at home. As the day went on I knew something was not right I could sense it. When he rang I knew she gone. Both my Husband and I have heard squeaks and I have felt weight across my body. I then saw 3 birds in the sky when I was talking to her asking if she was alright. . The day we put her ashes in our garden i saw orbs darting about the garden. I thought it could be my watch face catching the light but it was very cloudy and no sun. I know it was my beautiful dog who I miss.
I believe that we are all from the earth and we go back to the earth but our souls do go to another realm and I have glimpsed just a small part on your way there but have turned back to my body.

Hi Moonbeam, I wanted to share in this post that your wand inspired me to work with my patron deity, Odin, to obtain my own wand. By casting Ogham, I identified Blackthorn as the wand wood I should look for, and Odin helped me to find a reputable family-owned business in Shillelagh, Ireland (steeped in old Druid lore) that sells hand-crafted Blackthorn wands. The wand I ordered is called a Druid wand and is apparently washed in the waters of St. Fiach’s Well. St. Fiach, according to the shop site, was one of the last great Druid leaders of Ireland.
Since I’ve been practicing Druidry this seemed perfect, and it’s all because your post got me thinking about it! Isn’t it amazing how we can influence each other? I hope you are loving your wand and having successful magick with it! I can’t wait to receive my wand, and I’m grateful to have a patron who is so patient and full of guidance 
@bethany Hi Bethany a wand to me is an important part of my craft and who I am they say a wand finds you and when I picked it up I immediately felt connected it is hard to explain the feeling. I am so happy for you. I have found the website you have ordered your wand from Oldeshillelaugh.com they looks very special and very interesting reading about the history and St Fiach’s Well Waters.
The Hawthorn Tree Spirt is a very sacred tree and in Lancashire it is called “May” they stand over holy wells. They are highly respected faery trees throughout the whole of UK. I know that you will connect to it as you have been guided to it. Please post a photo so I can see it.
