Lancashire Witch England

Hi everyone, my name is Alison and I live in a small village in Lancashire, England which is famous for “The Pendle Witches” and I see Pendle Hill from my windows everyday.

I am a Solitary Eclectic Witch. I am married and have German Shorthair Pointer Dogs which are my fur babies!

I have always felt a little different growing up as I have had spiritual out of bodies experiences whereby I would describe what my parents were watching on television whilst I was in bed, floating towards a white light and being asked a question if I was wanted to cross a bridge and smelling smoke and perfume from my passed grandparents just to name a few. which I feel is special and therefore believe that your soul does go to another realm. I was born prematurely and my Mother was told that I might not survive. I have a very strong bond and connection with my Mum even though she passed suddenly 4 years ago which gives me comfort knowing that she is still supporting me through my life.

I am drawn to crystals (always spheres shapes and place them in 3) as they are formed from the earth, candles magic as I feel connects to my Mum, tarot, have an affinity with the moon, sun and the stars, the 5 elements and the Wheel of the Year with the changing of seasons. I love being in my garden tending to my herbs and plants and also have indoor plants as well. I am very house proud keep my home decluttered, calm and peaceful for my family and animals.

I have spells jars around my home and have done freezer spells a very long time ago.

Over the last year have been doing runes and since joining you all being learning oracle cards.

I have recently purchased a wand which was a handmade from a very reputable company a bespoke one-of-a-kind however the wand that I received was not the wand I chose, It is an “Acula” and is 13 1/4 inch with pixie hair core which I understand is rare. and I have strong bond with it and the magical properties described with the certificate of certification describes the witch it is intended for is me to a tee. I am looking forward to continue to develop any gifts that I may have.

Thank you for letting me talk as it has been a long time since I have been so open.

Fabulous Friday Alison,

I so hear ya. Feel free to ask anything and be yourself here at Spells 8. This is a very accepting and helpful coven of “co-conspirators” [those familiar with me, know about my love of alliteration].

If you are able to, would love to see some pictures of where you are.

Have a great weekend and welcome—–Lady Gene :phoenix:

Merry Meet, Alison!

It’s truly lovely to meet you and what a beautiful place to call home!

I’m Stephanie or Eira of the Living Hearth, an eclectic witch from California, and I want to thank you for sharing so openly. Experiences like the ones you describe are profoundly personal and often deeply comforting. That continuing sense of connection after loss can be a gentle thread that stays with us through life, and it makes sense that candle work feels linked to her presence for you.

Your practice sounds beautifully grounded in the natural and elemental: crystals in sacred triads, lunar and solar attunement, tending herbs and plants, a calm and intentional home, spell jars, runes, oracle work, all woven through everyday life. That’s very much hearth-centered magic!

And your wand experience sounds meaningful! Sometimes tools find us in unexpected ways, and what matters most is the bond you feel with it now. Connection is what makes an object magical in practice I believe.

You’re very welcome here, Alison. It’s a gift when someone feels safe enough to speak so openly after holding things in for a long time. I hope you find companionship, recognition, and encouragement as you continue exploring your gifts and deepening your path.

So glad you’re in the coven!
Blessed Be. :herb: :dizzy:

It sounds wonderful! You clearly are gifted and one of those gifts seems to be creating harmony. I love spending time in my garden as well, and growing my own herbs along with other plants native to my area, and beneficial to pollinators.

Hi everyone thank you for all your warmth, thoughtfulness, kindness, support and advice. I am truly thankful and I am happy to have found this coven.

I will continue making my moon water and drinking it as I have noticed that has helped me with inner calmness, open all my windows and doors as much as I can to let the air element come in sage, siglis, ring my bell in all 4 corners to release all negative energies that have built up as myself and my husband have very busy professional careers, blow cinnamon into our home on the 1st of the month and chant a blessing for our family, pets and Mother Earth and the Universe and other realms.

I have discovered that water/shower meditation is easier for me to incorporate into my daily life. I imagine the water flowing from the shower being a white light going through my body and black negative energy coming out of my fingertips and my feet. The heat of the water relaxes my body and I feel that I am ready for the day.

The February Oracle Post with the daily card is now incorporated into my daily life the deck is so beautiful and resonates with me the readings have given me insight and guidance I am really enjoying learning more.

I am also looking forward to completing the online course of WitchyDIY Apothecary (just waiting for some more supplies to arrive) and do more spell work with the moon phases and seasons of the wheel.

I do have a question to ask. I have noticed during the Waxing Gibbons and Full Moon my sleep pattern alters whereby I wake up more and feel a pull. I feel that as the Moon directly affects the oceans and our bodies are majority made of water that is why I feel more affected at these times.

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Bless you all

Thanks for your wonderful story.

I looked up the Pendle Witches which was a sad situation. Making sure their story doesn’t die is most important. Superstition and prejudice can end up being terribly evil.

Congrats on connecting to your beautiful wand!

I’m Dan and I study belief systems. My path falls loosely under the Chaos label. Deep meditation is one way I follow my path. I’m also interested in the stories of the usual - Greek, Celtic, and Norse mythologies and I tend to use cards to keep me interested and working with them. You can see more about my personal path in an answer to another person by clicking HERE.

Welcome to Spells8 and please jump in and enjoy.

Hi Dan thank you for your reply yes The Pendle Witches suffered greatly. Many people go to Pendle Hill on Samhain out of curiosity I feel that there is a change in the air at that time of the year.

Good morning everyone Happy 1st March to you all. Following my earlier post regarding how the Esbats affect my sleep cycles I realised that my witch name was obviously “Moonbeam” as I have selenite, rainbow, sunstone/moonstone spheres around my home and also wear a gold bracelet and anklet jewellery with the same stones. I will be doing a sleep pouch to put under my pillow today from the online course. Have a wonderful day everyone whatever you are doing.

Blessed be

Hello Georgia,

Thank you for reply. I have heard that wands pick the person they are meant for. When I placed my order for my bespoke handmade wand I was beginning to worry a little as I had not heard that it had been shipped and planned to contact the Company. The next morning my wand arrived and it was nothing like the wand that I had ordered. On checking the website for the description and type of wood and core as per the Certificate of Authenticity which was with my wand I could not anything only that they used Tulip Wood and my wand is made of Ironwood 13/3/4 inch “Ice Pixie Hair”. I was somewhat shocked as I remembered that people at place of work call me “Pixie on Speed”! as I am only 4ft 11 inch in height and dash and walk very fast.

As soon as I picked it up I knew that it was meant for me. I am very happy and even though it was not as decorative and has a different crystal pommel I love it and have done tool consecration spell to bond with me.

I will use it with my spell work as I know that it will help me to settle and focus

I have done the ‘Silver Money Spell’ tonight.

Have a lovely Worm Full Moon

Hello BryWisteria

Thank you and your fellow moderators for your kind thoughts and advice.

Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. I am blessed to have found your website and coven and immediately felt I belonged after my introduction as I was a little apprehensive at opening up about my childhood experiences as I remembered a time when I was at School and it came out in a religious class that everyone said I was weird and therefore I have not mentioned it again only my family, 2 best friends knows.

Being a Solitary Eclectic Witch and in a different country is challenging as I am a private person. Finding your coven has been a great blessing as I feel at ease and not judged thank you.

Blessed be

Greetings @Moonbeam and welcome!

I apologize for the late reply as I was abroad for over a week.

My name is Kat, and I practice bioregional animism grounded in the North Carolina Piedmont, blending science and magick. I’ve been practicing for over 30 years. I create divination tools adapted to my local ecosystem, including ogham staves and seasonal tree sets. I also read tarot. I’ve studied herbalism, make my own herbal teas, and enjoy working in herb and vegetable gardens. My practice is hands-on: I craft tools, make runes and deity figurines, and bind my own journals.

We’re glad you’re here. Make yourself comfortable, explore at your own pace, and feel free to ask any questions you might have!

Hello Artemisia

Merry meet I hope you had a lovely break. You have many talents. I also love gardening and herbs and will be attempting to make some of the Witch DIY Apothecary from the online course. I had done spell jars. Moon water, home cleansing, tarot, runes, candle magic etc, before joining.

Bon Sunday I made my own Sleep/Restorative Sleep Pouch for myself and my Husband. My next one will be the Full Moon Anointing Oil (missed it for today) but will make it this coming Sunday. Will explore other ones on the course.

Blessings to you

Terrific Tuesday Moonbeam,

Where did you order that wand? A fascinating story, and I have been thinking of another wand for months, but could not find one that “felt” right. I like how you reminded us that a wand will find us, not us finding them. That is sooooo COOL about the “pixie” part of the story. Just goes to show that it IS your wand and noone else’s. So, I would like to take a look. If you can please tell us where you ordered it?

There is a video that tells you about the people who make the wands.

Also I am sorry but I forgot to post some photographs of where I live. I am surrounded by hills and as you look at the photos Pendle Hill is on the left
