Lost in the Course

Okay, I’m gonna show my ignorance here; please forgive me! I’ve been trying to get through the Self Initiation Course, but I haven’t yet completed it, certainly not in eight nights. And frankly, I’m lost. I was trying to go through it in order, but I lost the thread of the “order”. All the links in each lesson, then links within the links, etc. have gotten me thoroughly confused. I think I’m at the First Wiccan Devotional, but I’m not sure if I’ve gotten there in the proper way or not. And I’m afraid I may have missed some things. I also have not been able to find the “Mark as Complete” on every one. I just want to “get” everything without missing anything. Is there an easy to follow guide to the lessons somewhere? Something to give me a sense of order? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! Love to all!

I did a bit of skipping around, too. Please don’t let it upset you? Sometimes the emotional response is worse than the issue.

When I got lost, I returned to the main page and looked again at the headings I’d marked as finished. That helped me find where I left off.

Don’t forget, they are adding new stuff along the way. Without your post, I wouldn’t have seen the new lesson available! Thank you.

As for not finding a way to mark as finished, maybe @Francisco can help?

Hello Oakthorn,

That is absolutely fine! The eight nights timeline is simply a guideline. All Courses can (and I’d say should!) be done in a way that works for the witch and their schedule. Feel free to work through the material at your own pace :books:

Let me see if I can help you get organized!

The Self Initiation Course is broken into eight sections (or days). Within each section/day is a series of lessons about that topic.

The eight sections are pictured below (and can be found on the main Self-Initiation Course Page) :

They are, in order:

COURSE TIP!

If, on the main Wicca Self-Initiation Page, you click the “Expand All” button (pictured below), you can see a drop down list of all of the lessons within each section/day. It will show you which ones were marked complete and which ones have not yet been done.

expand all

I don’t belive every single page in the lesson has a “Mark Complete” button at the bottom - the “Mark Complete” buttons and quizzes are somewhat like milestones throughout the course. As long as all of the milestones are complete (aka you have clicked every “Mark Complete” button that appears and passed the quizzes), the Course will be marked as complete and you’ll get a little prize :grinning:

Good luck and happy studies! :books: :sparkles:

Hi Oakthorn,

First off, I want to echo the reassurance given by @georgia and @BryWisteria! It’s easy to lose track, and you’re certainly not alone in feeling a bit overwhelmed. The important thing is that you’re continuing your journey! :raised_hands:

I wanted to add that you can visit ths page: Online Witchcraft Courses to see all the lessons listed in order. I suggest going through each one and revisiting them to make sure you’ve clicked the “Mark Complete” button at the end of each. It should be there!

And remember, there’s no rush. Take your time, revisit as needed, and enjoy the learning process. :star2:

Blessed be,
Francisco

@georgia, @BryWisteria, @Francisco… Thank you all so much for your assistance. I’m embarrassed… No sooner had I posted that than I found what I was looking for, the same page that you, @BryWisteria pointed out to me. So I’m sorry for taking up your time! But I do thank you all so much. I will use the “Expand All” button to be sure I have covered everything. I will say, there is a LOT of information there – which is good! But it can get confusing when I keep “going off on a tangent” as it were! Anyway, I think I’m okay now. Thanks again, I do appreciate it! Blessed Be!

No problem. We all do it. I’ve been here over a year, now, and I still need help like this on occasion. @BryWisteria caught details I missed, this time. We’ve all got each others’ backs around here. This forum is full of kind people who are able and happy to help, so don’t ever feel shy about asking.

Tangents and rabbit holes are fun to go down. We all do a lot of that around here. It’s all learning, and it’s all good. May it serve you well!

Hi @georgia. You’re right; the tangents I went off on were all interesting and potentially useful, so I can’t complain! Blessed Be!

My pleasure - we’re all happy to help!

Feel free to ask questions anytime you’re in need of help or even just a second opinion. It’s what a coven is for :handshake:  :infinite_roots:

I can’t say it better than Georgia - tangents sure can be distracting, but they can also be fun too! Luckily, even if we wander in our studies, the material is all there and will wait for us until we’re ready to return in the future. There’s no rush on the path of learning :grinning: :books:

Keep on having fun with your studies, Oakthorn - blessed be! :sparkles:
