Magick Gardens 2026 🌻

Ah, the SE USA!

I lived in the Atlanta area for many moons. The winters were definitely kind (aside from the occasional panic of a 3-inch snowfall) but it was the brutal summertime weather that eventually drove me to the North.

Look at all the plant life in bloom and growing! I can’t wait to see the hellebores that I planted in 2025. I hope they look as good as yours. I can’t recall if one was Fire & Ice. It was one on my list. But I picked three. It’s a good thing I write that stuff down in a notebook. Yours is gorgeous!

Thanks for giving us Northern folk a lovely dose of garden magic!

My bananas are still trying to hang on!

That is so cool! I’ve found a banana plant that is supposed to grow in Zone 5 where I am. If I can find one to buy, I’m going to try it out-you’ve inspired me!

Let me tell you, I have had that plant for over 30 years and this is the first year it made bananas. I thought it was just ornamental! My grown kids couldn’t believe it.

Whew, I’m going to have to live a long time then.

30 years is a long time to wait for bananas!

This year I will be focusing on tomatoes for canning, herbs and flowers. I always tuck in some other things though, and love to see what volunteers. I try to add a new herb or two each year too.

This week when the weather clears up I need to do some prepping and spring cleanup. Seed starting and plant out this sprouting garlic I have been too lazy about! :shovel:

The crocus are up in this spiral rock garden bed. though it is not much of a spiral shape anymore, I need to remake it.

It’s like you read my mind. I was planning on asking anyone who already has some spring plants up to post a picture or two. I live vicariously through you guys until the end of March when the snow is melting and I can finally see a few of my babies starting to come up. At the moment, everything is covered by 1-2 feet of snow and we’ll be getting some more today. Winter has been rough up here this year.

I love your idea about a seed exchange (on another post). I will try and make a list of what I have and share it as well.

Keep posting your gorgeous flowers!

Here in the UK we have experienced relentless rain since 1st January and 4 named storms.

The weather has finally settled yesterday, today we have beautiful spring sunshine and I can feel some warmth. The birds have been up singing at 5.30 am. It is good to get back out into my gardens.

My garlic and onions are now outside and are growing. I will be doing red, yellow cherry tomatoes in my hanging baskets and other varieties in pots, revaluing my herb planters as some of them have rotted away.

That’s is all for now

Happy gardening everyone

My Carolina Jasmine is blooming so I know Spring has sprung in Texas. I smelled it before I saw it!

Hello Ostara

That is amazing Jasmine is so fragrant and good for early pollinators. I have summer star jasmines but they are looking sorry for themselves with all the rain that we have.

I know from our National Weather Service that the US has had extreme weather patterns with high levels of snow and very cold temperatures in some parts. I hope that the worst is over and spring can finally arrive so you can enjoy the start of new life emerging and your whatever you grow will be bountiful.

I have just seen my first ladybird and my koi fish have started looking for food, some of indoor plants are getting new leaves will start feeding them.

Blessings
