Magick Gardens 2026 🌻

Welcome to Magick Gardens 2026

The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.

Hello, friends, and welcome back to another installment of Magick Gardens! :sparkles:

Magic Gardens at Spells 8 was started by @marsha and she has asked me to continue this tradition for her while she can’t be here. So, here we are with Magick Gardens 2026.

So, what is Magic Gardens?

This is a place for all of you gardening witches and spiritual people out there to share what you are doing in your garden. Are you growing beautiful flowers? Did you create an herb garden to cultivate ingredients for your magickal practice? Are you growing food? Are you growing bushes?

Whatever you are growing or whatever garden you have, this is the place for you to share. We would love to see what you have growing, what you are harvesting, and what you have blooming in your magickal garden.

This garden doesn’t have to be specifically for magickal purposes either, so please keep that in mind. You can share anything related to your garden – that is exactly what this space is for!

So, feel free to share pictures, advice, ask questions, etc. when it comes to gardening.

Yay! I’m really excited about this undertaking! To strengthen my practice in 2026, I plan on creating a herb and flower container garden this year. I’ve spent the last few months putting my plan together. I look forward to getting it started in February!

Thanks for this @MeganB

Gardening in Texas can be a heavy chore as we deal with the heat and humidity in the summer months, but on days like today, when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and the temps are in the low 70s, it’s very pleasant to be outside. I even have roses blooming still

My main focus in the garden is native plants to benefit the pollinators (there’s actually a butterfly floating around the garden today too). I have a small herb garden too.

My gardening philosophy is this: I’ll work on it in the cooler months, prep it, plant it, and fertilize it and then it’s pretty much on its own through the hot months of summer until winter rolls around again and I can tackle the weeds that have grown rampantly. So from now through March I’ll be busy weeding, digging, planting. and then I will sit in the shade on my patio, sip on a cool beverage and try and ignore the growing weeds. (The birds and butterflies don’t seem to mind them, so why should I?)

Perfect timing, now that the holidays are past, my Spring fever will kick in and I’ll start planning for this coming season. At the moment we’re buried in snow. And I can get a little gardening fix here from our Southerly friends!

We are supposed to have a high of 86 degrees today. Two nights ago it was 29 degrees. Who knows, @Greenbriar and I may have a second harvest!

Same here, @veronica1 ! I’m living vicariously through @Greenbriar’s lovely roses in her pleasant winter garden.

Under all this snow lies my pollinator garden: the swamp milkweed, button bush, purple coneflowers and all the rest are sleeping peacefully.

Those footprints are mine from tromping out to the birdfeeder yesterday. It snowed a little more overnight. :snowflake:

Jayne, please blow a kiss from me to your precious butterfly visitor! :butterfly: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Will do - there are two of them out there today, there are still some blooms on the zinnias and the tropical milkweed is blooming again, even though I cut it back to discourage egg-laying at this time of year.

Feel free to post many pictures of those still blooming lovelies!

I went out today and was watching the butterflies when I realized at least one of them was a Queen, not a Monarch. It was nectaring on the tropical milkweed which are blooming like crazy in spite if being cut back a month ago. I didn’t want to encourage egg laying, which thankfully there haven’t been any eggs/ caterpillars, but the blooms are certainly being appreciated now. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic.

Hi. I am sharing my first garden experiences of 2026:

Today I found this nice camellia for this spot. I’ve been wanting a camellia for this spot for about two years now.

I was surprised to find the Ice n’ Roses Hellebores in bloom already…

While I was around the yard I snapped pics of these violas and carrots seeded this fall that are now looking healthy…

Blessed be :slightly_smiling_face:

Wonderful! It must be terrific to wander around and see so much in bloom. I envy you that fabulous carrot, too!

What part of the world are you in?

Thanks! Yes, one of the benefits of living in the southeast US are mild winters. Sometimes I do miss a real winter though.
