Hi I hope your all well. I have a question about black candles. I see they are a part of alot of protection spells and also I try do the colour correspondences by day for candle meditations and Saturday obviously the day for black. My problem is black candles are not always easy to come by but I was wondering if there was a way to say if I need to deal a jar with black candle wax, is there a way to maybe make a different colour candle black so that it would work the same as if it was originally a black candle or does it need to be made a black candle for it to have to properties of protection etc to use in spellwork . I’d love to know if there was a way to make black candle wax even just to seal a protection jar or to make my own black candles until able to get hands on black candles. I just wasn’t sure if it would still work the same or as well as a bought black candle or if it was even possible to make your own black candles without needing specialist candle colour stuff to make them. .if that made sense. Idcappreciatw any advice or feedback. Again I hope that your all doing well and having a great week so far.
If you have crayons handy, you could try melting down a candle you already have, removing some of the wax, and adding in some black crayon shavings until you get the color you need. It probably won’t be fully black but it’s worth a shot!
You can also substitute a white candle for any working you’re doing. It seems to be a universal substitute for candle magic.
Thanks i think i will try that. its more to use the correspondence to the colour black, so it is good to see if i can make a black candle but its good to know could substitute a white candle if need. can i ask though, what if the spell says both black and white candles, will substituting the candle and just using white still work the same way. but i definaltly will try the crayon idea, i do have art supplies so i am sure that i have crayons in my supplies

I have no idea about crafting candles but I will tell you that Amazon sells black candles pretty cheap, like ten bucks for twenty chime candles. Of course, that depends on where you are. Hope that helps you a little bit.
Know the arts and craft chain store Michaels, the two near me, have black candles year round. Being it’s a chain, maybe the same deal through out the USA. Also, depending where you are, check to see if there is a Botanica (those places are stocked and with many more types of candles too) or perform a map search for “spiritual shop” good chance they may have them.
With actual making candles, don’t know. Can imagine trying to make a black, it’s a strong color, sounds challenging.
Finally, if no luck and have to make it yourself or order online, when Halloween comes around, a lot more places will have black candles, may stock up then.
If this is the case then I would carve a symbol on each candle to separate the two meanings 
I’m not sure if they have those stores where I live as I don’t live in USA, but I’ll have a look. I did have a look at a candle chain we do have but only black candle they had was a white tropical candle in a black glass jar. But I’ll keep looking n I’ll have a look to see if we do habecamy of those stores and I’ve just not heard of them. I don’t go shopping alot as I don’t do crowd very well, I’ve discovered one reason for that since started learning about magic and the different aspects and that is I am very sensitive to people’s or other energies and it gets overwhelming. One solution I thought may help is if I can try practice creating a circle of protection when go to the big shops that might reduce how much energy bring bombarded with. I never understood what was happening before but it’s empowering to understand now because now I don’t feel stupid cause I understand why it was happening and also I feel slightly empowered that I can look at ways to help protect myself from being bombarded by so much energy.
The protection spells may be more specific to other issues but might also help depending on the spell. There is so much to learn but it’s exciting and I’m slowely learning about even everyday places that can get some magival supplies but obviously things like black candles I’ve found has been a lil bit trickier to get my hands on. @Phoenix_Fire Hi! I have read about the black salt recipe here on Spell8… they often dress the candle with oil and put black salt all around and all along. I have read to do that with black candle… Since black salt is a tool for protection too. I was asking myself why not dressing my white candle with it too! Have the white candles and other white candles dressed with black salt ready for the spell.
P.S In what country are you in? Did you try ordering candles online? XO
Walmart has them, too, but I think amazon is faster and easier to use.
Heh, I get everything from Amazon. I’m disabled and it’s difficult for me to get out and shop so I get Amazon a lot.
I’m in Australia but I also live in apartment where there is no secure place to leave parcels n I’ve had issues where if I wasn’t home or they couldn’t find a way to go into apartments they would just leave n didn’t call to ask how to get in so id had some trouble with some orders never arriving or taking weeks to even be dispatched… or being sent back. If I can get to a shop in person ( recently found a few that have black candles) then I could get some but seeing as my ptsd and burn out/anemia as well as being overworked n long travel n working at home as well if taking work home as well as a full day of work. Was up till past 12am working hence why I’m awake at 1.30 in morning. Sometimes I go without food or supplies just cause can’t get to the shops so even though I found a few places near me that have them getting there is another issue plus I also am sensitive to energy (man was I glad to learn about this stuff cause I’d always or at least for a long time been sensitive to energies around me ie people place a ect just didn’t know what it was or what it meant) so going to big shops where these places are is overwhelming. I’m trying to work on practicing the circle of protection without tools to make going to big shops easier. It’s like being bombarded from all sides and I can never stay long hence why my work pants n shoes always falling apart long before i manage to get new ones. I thought of renting a pobox to have packages sent to that n I just go pick it up if ordered online but it’s not in my budget. So getting to shops to get in person is main option. Now that found a place can get it from I just need to work on protection from the overload of energies. I was practicing the circle of protection on the train this morning. But it’s hard to focus on building that sphere around me n keep it there with so much going on around me even sitting there…I’m not sure I could do it if was moving through crowds. Im not sure if it works with that sort of thing or only if in stationary space. . But I guess it’s worth a try. I’ve been thinking about all my options, even possibly sending to parents address as they live close by but I’m not sure how they’d respond to this stuff. So yeah I think the option I need to work on is getting to shops. Lol but cause I go so sparcly because of various issues I think I will have a big spend to get all I need as i never know when I’ll get back. But if I go I’d also have to get food and no car so I can only buy what I can carry. But that’s what I’m working on. I’ve found where I can get them from where don’t have to worry bout delivery it’s just working on getting there. I wish there was a herbal tea for courage, confidence, energy ( as in like physical or emotional to face the challenge) and strength and energy protection. Lol id drink that before had to go to shops just so I could go and stay calm n not overwhelmed. N confident. N have energy to deal with it. I’m iron deficient/anemic (My levels fluctuate but been below normal levels for years). I do have a herbal syrup recipe I want to try to boost iron levels. It’s from a book called plant clinic. Herbal or green witch side coming out there but a lot of herbal stuff is not in normal supermarkets. So again same problem as the candles or crystals. But I’m working on it. Man 2am in morning better try go get sleep. Plumber supposed to come in 7 hours ( first person to enter my apartment while I was home since the attack other than family n mostly just my dad drops by now n then ) so those protection spells around house I’m going to hope they are strong enough to protect me later today. In the mean time better get some sleep. It’s been a long day lol so much so it’s spilled into the next day. I was so tired I accidently put red candles out instead of white thinking it was Tuesday. Was part way through lunar meditation before realised my mistake it wasn’t Tuesday yet, and Monday is white candle ( which I had for the meditation) but also was burning wrong candles on side to what day it eas. Oh well oops well its Tuesday now so at least today’s candles are already there. Thanks for the suggestion though. If I could figure out a way around delivery issues I’d so order online. Until then it’s figure out how to get to shops. Most I have found are in big shopping centres but may be when get better at the circle of protection I can go into big shopping centre n not be overloaded or bombarded by energies around me n the crowds as well. But I will get there. I’m sure
