Merry meet ! I’m Robyn or MeryWynd ( merry wind ) from NC. I’m new here, but I’ve been a practicing Witch almost 40 years. I’m solitary eclectic with interests in herbs, natural remedies, weather spells, and lately I’m reading about chaos magick. I am so excited to join in the conversation topics and get to know all of you. Bright blessings ☆
Hello @MeryWynd,
Welcome to the forum!
I’m Bry, an Eclectic Witch and one of the moderators. I hope you don’t mind that I upgraded your introduction to a space of its own. Sometimes things can get buried in the comments of other discussions, so this way the coven will know to stop in and say hi ![]()
It sounds like you’re studying a lot of fun areas of the Craft! I’d love to hear about your weather spellwork (if you’re comfortable sharing - if not, no worries!). And I know there are quite a few chaotes/chaos magick practitioners around who enjoy discussions of chaos in the Craft ![]()
Please make yourself at home here, Robyn! Blessed be ![]()

I create divination tools adapted to my local ecosystem, including ogham staves and seasonal tree sets. I also read tarot. Hello @MeryWynd and welcome to the forum! ![]()
I´m Katharina, an art-witch and art therapist from Vienna, Austria! I´m practicing magick very much through art making! I love altar craft, candle making, poppet work, spell boxes, jars and all kinds of creative magic shenanignas. Working in my Book of Shadows is a big part of my practice. I love all things tarot and practice this art since many moons.
The forum is huge and it takes time to get to know everything. The people here are very sweet and helpful, so just make yourself known if there´s any questions, someone will certainly show up to help you.
I´m looking forward to getting to know you! ![]()
Hey y’all. I’ve been off the grid a few days, but I’m back now and ready to jump in. Firstly, Thank You to all who have sent warm welcomes !! I truly appreciate it. I wouldn’t know where to begin in describing my practice, so I’m open to questions. I’m a Scorpio so I love all things mysterious, spooky, occult, etc. I was reading about paranormal subjects around age ten. When I was 12 or 13, I read my first book on Witchcraft. Titled "The Magic Power of Witchcraft " by Gavin and Yvonne Frost. And although I did not realize at the time, that book changed my life by opening a whole new world to me. Because of my age and my christian household, I kept everything top secret. I kept reading every craft book I could find. I dabbled, experimented, and kind of lost interest until my early 20s when I decided to go “all in” ..fast forward to now, some 40 yrs later and I’m in my crone phase, practicing and doing a little magick everyday. ☆
Wow, I haven’t heard about them in years. Which is weird, since I don’t live that far from them. Usually, they’re on the news every Halloween. Or someone from their school.
And hey, the crone phase is a good one! Or as I call it, the dirty old broad stage. LOL!
Hi, I’m Bethany from the northeast US! I’m a newly practicing witch, member of two druid orders, and new forum member although I’ve been interested in all these topics my whole life (over 20 years now). I definitely lean toward natural magick, so I’d love to learn more about weather spells. I don’t know anything about chaos magick yet, but it sounds interesting. So happy to see you here and I’m thrilled to have such an experienced witch among us.
I love hearing about your experiences. I too had a Christian upbringing and it took me a LONG time to embrace witchcraft because of all that spiritual baggage. But your story resonates with me. I was reading about witchcraft and the paranormal from a young age too.
I really love the energy of Scorpios! I’m a Gemini and my husband is Sag with Venus in Scorpio.
..lol..dirty old broad. Love that ! I’m surprised that the Frosts’ are mentioned on Halloween/Samhain. Wow, I should google them. I thought they would have passed away. So maybe the school they founded is still in existence. Thank you for sharing. I’ll check further ☆
Hi Bethany.. merry meet ! Your curiosity and interest in learning is the mark of a true Gemini
I adore the new england area and lived in Maine for a short time. It is so beautiful there. Very much like living in a postcard. So, about weather spells.. I do not have a specific incantation. I’ve been thinking about ways to explain what I do and then create a topic on here to share. I was reading a book ( forget which one) by Silver Ravenwolf a lonnng time ago and in an offhand way, she mentioned being caught at the grocery store in a rainstorm and she stopped the rain long enough to get her shopping bags in the car. A lightbulb popped on for me. I realllly wanted to learn how to do that, so I began attempts to do the same. I eventually got it right. Now, I ‘shift’ the elements or ‘shrink’ the energy of a bad storm or ‘split’ a storm in half. I know it may seem impossible, but it works. Theres more to it but its also very simple. ☆
That is so fascinating. I’ve been a believer ever since I was a preteen and my mother confessed to me that she hexed her boyfriend and it had worked, which I think scared her off doing magick. She had witchcraft books which I enjoyed sneaking from her bookshelf and reading as a kid. She hasn’t practiced since then, so I think that experience scared her off; she ventured more into yoga and new age practices.
I think for me I’d like to work with the weather and utilize its energy. Listening to a podcast (Back on the Broomstick) talking about animism and spirits in everything, including in weather, made something click for me on how spells work. I’d almost say I’m a weather witch as I feel strongly physically and emotionally affected by weather patterns; my husband is the same way. He’s pretty magical himself but quite secular and practical, so I just smile to myself at how telepathic and intuitive he is ![]()
They may have passed. I’m not sure. They live maybe about an hour away from me. Or they lived. But yeah, they’d show up every once in a while in weird stereotypical outfits and wands with stars on them. They were just being laughed at; it was sad. There were some awful rumors about them, but I doubt it’s true. At least I hope not.
@MeryWynd as I have completed the Witchy Challenge - Catch Up one of my entries was the practices of a Sea Witch. I am now intrigued about more weather spells. I look forward to reading your post on the same and thank you for sharing this.
With Love & Light ![]()
