Merry Meet Monday - Witchy News of the Week (Apr 13 - 19) šŸŒ‘

Take your time - it’s fun and intimidating at the same time. I like darker colors in rooms that get more natural light - lighter colors where some brightening help is needed. So I’m happy with both!

You do have a lot on your plate! Have a blast with your birding group and the native plant society field trip - will send sunshine your way!

Oh, that’s great news - congrats! So glad the appointments are slowing down for you.

Well, don’t be too good or we won’t recognize you. Have a wonderful week my friend!

Thank you, Sis! You’re right, this really is a special week - the whole world seems ready to celebrate the Earth. :globe_showing_americas: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you, sweetie! Yes, cutters gonna cut, right? :joy: I have to be mentally ready!

Thanks for the emojis! And the cheering! LOL!

You’re welcome! I found a few fun recipes to share too!

The hair I can do without, simply because I like the ozone layer. Oh, and it was difficult to get into cars. But the clothes, well, I do miss a bit of neon every once in a while. And oversized sweaters never go out of style!

Good luck! I hope it stays a nice week for you!

Thank you! I may have to schedule a doctor’s appointment just to get out of the apartment! I don’t think there’s been a month with no appointments since I moved in! Ten years ago!

I’m going for just evol enough to not be kicked out of the building. LOL!

Thank you @Feathertip! It’s my first maypole.

I have more morning glory seeds to plant. I’m not sure what color they are, so that will be a surprise. The ones hubby killed were huge purple ones. Me and a friend went to an abandoned house and dug some out of the yard (I kept waiting for the police to show up). Two women at an abandoned house in an overgrown yard, with shovels. That’s not something you see everyday! The house has been torn down and a new house and lawn put in so no more morning glories.

@Artemisia can I please trade life with you for a week? It sounds beautiful!

Thank you Amethyst! I got me a little fold out stool so I can sit my butt down and weed the garden!

Thank you. You were the one who gave me the idea. I’ve never made a Maypole before. I ordered the leaf rainbow ribbons from Amazon and I like the way they turned out.

I’m so glad you’ve healed Amethyst! I hate doctor’s appointments. I think it’s the waiting. The older I get the more impatient I get!

@Moonbeam The sage sticks seem to be dried so I will light one outside to see how it burns. I have some bad luck when it comes to fire, and my fireman is at work now. :fire:

@dan3 good luck with the Spring cleanup. We need our front porch replaced, but hubby isn’t a carpenter, so we have to find someone to do it. I told him to watch a YouTube video, but it hasn’t happened yet.

My sage and lemon balm didn’t make it through the heat of last summer. I will try again this year. I may just put them in pots.

Many years ago, I lived in an apartment with fields on both sides. Every winter we would get field mice in the house, and I hated the cleanup. I have so many outdoor cats around now, a mouse couldn’t get past them!

Welcome Shanna5! I started out four years ago as a baby witch and found Spells 8. I didn’t stay a baby witch for long with all the knowledgeable witches on this site. There is always something new to learn.

@Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth I’m starting the Oracle up again today. Last week flew by.

Nice! Work smarter, not harder!

It looks better than mine! You did a wonderful job!

I always get tired waiting, which doesn’t make sense. You’re not doing anything but sitting, but it’s like the waiting drains the life force out of you.

I wonder how many years of our life we spend waiting? I remember in my younger years when I had 4 small children, it seemed like we were always waiting in doctors offices and dentist offices. Thank the gods those days are over! It’s bad enough with just me!

@Ostara I love your Maypole.its beautiful. I started making one the other day. So far it’s just a stick in some clay in a cauldron. I ordered some satin ribbons from Amazon and that came in yesterday, so I will see if I can finish it today.

I use a little reversible seat/kneeler when I’m out weeding (except that I can’t use the kneeler part anymore). I also have a little scoot with wheels and a seat, but I don’t use that as much any more because I can’t reach far from it, and I can’t actually put it in the island beds as it would flatten the plants i do want. The seat/kneeler works better.

And I try to honor the limits of my body and just weed ā€œ little and often" clearing a small area at a time.

Had to giggle reading about you digging plants up at abandoned house and expecting the police to show up. Those must be heirloom plants.

My little herb garden is on the east side of the house so it gets shade in the afternoon, which may explain how the lemon balm and sage made it through last summer

I tip my hat to you! Being in a waiting room with four little ones to entertain must have been painful! And you survived!

Hubby killed every last one of them!

The great thing about my work schedule is when I get home in the morning, I can do a little garden work when it’s cool outside. I have a feeling by the time the triple digits get here I will hate that I have a garden! :sun_with_face:

It took a little while with me pulling out my hair, but I finally found something to make it easier. I had a tote bag with crayons, markers, color pages and stickers. The only time we would pull that tote out was on appointment visits. I would sit on the floor with my 4 children and we would color! I remember one time an elderly man came into the waiting room and told me what a good mother I was. Trust me, he wouldn’t have said that before the tote bag!

Oh no! So sorry to hear that.

That’s why he felt bad a bought a ton of morning glory seeds. I’m going to plant them along the fence lines. They do go crazy with the vines, and they can choke out other plants and trees.

I’m looking forward to seeing your Maypole! Mine started out as a stick, a cauldron and that foam stuff that florists use in flower arrangements. It was easier to put together then I thought it would be.

I sure he would have, but that’s a great idea! I wish more parents would do stuff like that.

Awww, thanks. The tote bag also kept me from wanting to punch my husband in the face whenever I had to take the kids out in public!

 If you’d been wearing a pentacle, they’d be certain you were burying something, not digging up flowers!

I was gifted seeds from a friend in St. Louis, and have no idea what color I’ll be getting, either. Fingers crossed for success with both of our new morning glory babies!

I’ll be there later today. Last week got away from me too! I’m working on creating a daily routine for myself that works and I can get in everything I like to do daily like I used to a couple years ago before life smacked me in the head and then power bombed me to the floor! I did my old morning routine earlier and it felt soooo good!

I know how that is and I’m dealing with it at the moment!

I have ADHD, and I find that I do so much better with some kind of structure in my daily routine, even if it’s just a list to keep my brain focused on something. If I go with the flow of life, the flow washes me away down river with rapids!

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? I mean, if there’s justifiable homicide, there’s got to be a justifiable punch.
