Ugh! I am so sorry to hear about the foundation issues! We had to fix the foundation on our house- jackpots the upper level, rip out everything in the basement and rebuild.
I hope you can get yours done without too much cost!!
1920s house sounds super cool!

I wish I had thought of putting in a secret room and a cold storage when we put back the walls.

@Phoenix_Rose – thankfully the contractors told us we don’t have to redo the entire basement and foundation, and we may not even need to redo any of it. I’m not entirely sure how they plan on fixing it, but it does need to be jacked up in certain places and then lowered in others. The previous owners really did a lot of DIY stuff to the house and just… half the stuff isn’t done right :joy: We’re still waiting for the contractor’s quote to figure out exactly what to do, but I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s not too expensive!

That is good to hear you don’t have to redo all the walls. Yes, DIY is interesting. Every contractor that came into our house said “that’s not to code” :flushed:

This week we are busy preparing to move 15 hrs away! We leave monday and wont get there until Saturday (travelling with young kids). Any advice/ ideas for celebrating betane on the road?

Honestly, it’s okay to wait until you get to where you’re going. The traditional celebrations of Beltane mark the beginning of “Summer” (put in quotes because the ancient Celts divided their years into Summer & Winter - light half and dark half) – you’ve got time and I wouldn’t stress yourself out worrying about how to celebrate while also going through the stress of moving!
