Merry Meet Monday - Witchy News of the Week! (Apr 22 - 28) šŸŒ•

It really is, Iā€™ve had some weird insurance things too. And 1 where they tried to bill my insurance for appointments that were my daughterā€™s & not meā€¦ So that was fun to untangle. Then some others with prescriptions & billing orders & payments. Itā€™s been a wreck this year. Even my providers are likeā€¦ donā€™t pat attention to that billā€¦ itā€™s still pending an insurance response but was automatically generated.

Congratulations!

Cheers to quiet weeks! I hope the weather warms up for you soon. Itā€™s still up in the air for us here  itā€™s cold in the mornings but then maybe itā€™ll hit 60F in the afternoon. No one really knows!

You absolutely need a rest! Iā€™m proud of you for saying no. Thatā€™s a hard thing for a lot of people to do! I hope you get some much-needed rest and self-care

I hope you have a wonderful week, too!

Things are going over here for me, I suppose. Weā€™re trying to figure out if the house we bought is worth fixing or not - thereā€™s an issue with the foundation and basement which is causing the house to be not level which could pose an issue in the future, but basements and foundations arenā€™t cheap. We had a contractor here yesterday, and with the list of things I pointed out to him, he was kind of stumped as to what to do next  soā€¦ weā€™re kind of in a liminal space with the house right now, I suppose? I mean, it was built in 1920 and the people who lived here before didnā€™t take very good care of it. They fixed everything themselves and then tried to cover some other stuff up.

Anyway, lots of expensive things happening in my future, I thinkā€¦ not the immediate future, but who knows anymore :joy:

@MeganB oh dear, thatā€™s an issue about the house. Hereā€™s a crooked house in England, built in 1687 in Windsor, had a few reconstruction works done on it,

And hereā€™s an older one, people live in them.

picture from The Daily Mail.

If you love your house and can afford the work, itā€™s a part of history, the roaring 20s, :person_shrugging:, can it be saved  Iā€™m sentimental about buildings. I hope it works out :green_heart:

Iā€™m sure it can be saved. Itā€™s nothing like the pictures you shared  but the house has been put together and ā€œfixedā€ like a poorly made puzzle. Now itā€™s up to us to determine if we can even afford to fix it or if we should just move :woman_shrugging: I have no clueā€¦ my fiance has no clueā€¦ we donā€™t know anything

@MeganB Hereā€™s hoping. You have such pretty views from it, and all that moving work. Iā€™m hoping for good news.

It seems everyone is having problems. And the insurance is losing money really. Instead of paying home health to come for a home visit twice a week, I only get one visit. So for the other I have to get insurance to pay for my ride to the doctor and the pay for an expensive specialist to do the same thing a nurse could do. Silly, really.

Well weā€™ve got a frost warning on Thursday morning, and itā€™s supposed to be 83 on Saturday. I donā€™t know what to wear! LOL!

Wow, thatā€™s awful. I hope youā€™re able to figure something out.

@MeganB I live in an old house too and itā€™s on blocks (on dirt) so it will never be completely level. We had someone come out and level it a few years ago, and honestly I think he made it worse. My sheetrock is cracking everywhere and things have been flying off the walls and shelves! Of course, my house could be haunted. I donā€™t mind. :ghost:  On Halloween I could charge people $5.00 a head to tour my haunted house. My witch room would really scare the sh*t out of them! :joy:

:rofl::rofl::rofl: that would be so fun! Save the witch room for the end of the tour!:rofl:

Oh, I get that! It was nice yesterday and now itā€™s supposed to rain all day today and be cold. Iā€™m over it

Thank you  The contractor came back yesterday with his business partner and they have a better and more positive outlook on it now than they did before. A second set of eyes was a big help! Now, weā€™re just waiting for their email with their quote and prices and what all needs to be doneā€¦ and I know itā€™s gonna be expensive!

That makes a lot of sense. Our issue that weā€™re having is that parts of the foundation are sinking, and there is a part of the house in the front where they turned a porch into part of the living room. The porch used to be on stilts but they poured concrete and wrapped it to make it look like part of the basementā€¦but they didnā€™t leave any airflow so the contractors think the boards holding it up are rotting because of moisture.

The roof is also sinking in the middle and causing a problem upstairs  but one step at a time!

Itā€™s nice to dream but I always figure Iā€™d lose and end up buying a Snickers bar instead. At least that way I have chocolate!

Well I figure Iā€™d never win the lottery, so yeah, Iā€™ll take the candy. LOL!
