Motherās Day today!
For those who can just go out and enjoy the day- have a FABULOUS day!!!
For those of you who have a hard time today- big hugs to you. May you spend time doing things for yourself and self-nurture.
I am a bit contemplative today.
I am the mother of teens. 1. Is 16 and is on a destructive path right now. We, the adults in his life, including his teachers, see that he is determinedly trying to sink and we are sad for him.
He is mad at me right now (i expect him to be responsible and respectful before helping him get his driverās license. he is mad I didnāt explicitly explain that before now. . Apparently he listens to me as well as I listen to my guides. ).
Anyway, I am mindful of this. I will create space- it may be good for him to remember the love that he feels. Definitely best not to force him to show love and appreciation for me. Also, I donāt believe an empty present to satisfy a man-made day provides any benefit.
2nd is 13 and he sees his brotherās actions and is making better choices in his actions and behaviour. He tells me pretty regularly that he loves me and he is respectful, mostly . He was worried yesterday as he hadnāt gotten me anything for Motherās Day. I told him that he provides me with the best Motherās Day present possible fairly regularly with the hugs and the Ā“I love youās, and the time spent together. He seemed a bit stunned/taken aback and that had to sink in. Then last night, before bed, he came and told me he loved me.
On the face of it, specific celebration days can help remind people to stop, slow down, and show appreciation. Or a great excuse to go out, have fun, laugh, and enjoy.
On the flip side specific celebration days can create unnecessary stress.
Whatever side of the coin you are on today, may you find today to be a day of peace, love, and nurturing.
@Phoenix_Rose A beautiful message. Things will work out for your older son, heāll grow into a wonderful man. I was a hellraiser teen, but Iāve always loved my mum.
I wonder why you guys celebrate Motherās day on a different day to the UK Ours was 19 March.
Edit: Iāve answered my own question, Lokiās amazed I was intelligent for once
Thanks for posting that answer. I have always wondered why they were on different days.
Here in Canada, I imagine we just followed suit with the Americans. (Something like- we are our own country now and donāt have to do what the Britās tell us toā¦(what to do)ā¦(donāt know)ā¦.okā¦.lets just do what the Americans are doingā¦.that is easiest, no fussā¦.and we can still chill ).
However, I will have to look a bit deeper as I didnāt know there was a church-related date. Maybe that is a UK thing.
Loki is funny.
@Phoenix_Rose Found it. Bonus points from Loki, maybe heāll help me figure out this Seidr stuff
The History of Motherās Day.
And thank you for this. That is good to hear. I will hold onto that!
Thanks to you and Loki!
