What I’ve experienced is that these types of beings tend to mirror us, they’re not like spirits of dead people, they’re like angels or gods really so I’ve always been respectful. I don’t believe in all that binding and genie in the lamp stuff, to me that’s bad manners and I think he’d just bop me on the head with the lamp

As I learn more I may do a post here, but if you’re worried about protection, just use whatever protection rituals are of your practice - I’ve been told certain passages from the Qur’an are good for protection if it’s a bad djinn but I’ve never tried this, I always use runes.
