For my book of shadows I fell in love with the book and printed out the pages size A5, cut them out and used glue sticks to glue them in, I purposly used thin white printer paper because the contrast is easier to read than on parchment and it doesnt add to much thickness to the pages. My portable altar is a vintage suitcase which I may eventually paint or decopauge, but was also very handy while I was still in the broom closet…lol
